I plan to use transferwise to fund IBKR account.
is there any link to see how it's done? TIA.
*
It's quite straight forward actually.

Log in to your client portal, left hand side, transfer fund, make a deposit, choose your currency, bank wire... then you've all the bank details you need. Then login to TW... initiate transfer.

It's as easy as using microsoft word or google mail or accessing 18+ websites. No one taught us anything. laugh.gif

You have to check before you transfer. TransferWise is generally more expensive.
*
Times have changed!

As of now,
RM 10k =
$3,233.39 in BP
$3,237.37 in InstaRem
$3,239.52 in TW

unfortunately, BP doesn't allow screenshot.

Note: there may be discrepancy if you don't log in to check the forex rate for TW and IR.

Anyway, this only matters if you're as stingy as me. tongue.gif

How to know whether my transfer wise account is borderless?
*
you log in and see lo ...

in the past, you are supposed to "open" the borderless account after logging in, and you'll be given your personal bank details so that you or other ppl can transfer money to your TW acc.
Now, I'm not sure if you're a new TW user or existing TW users.

Have you logged in and try to play around?
It's just a matter of going to the app and see what buttons are available, like switching on a new laptop / phone or booking flights for the first time.
I think I've clicked almost every button in TW in order to discover their features.

I don't understand your question.

There's no option to choose USD in BigPay, so what are you talking about? rclxub.gif

QUOTE(Sam_Lee @ Jun 18 2020, 12:56 AM)
i supposed transferring and converting process to MY is similiar (vice versa)?
*
I still don't understand your question.

BigPay is used to send money to third party. Does BigPay provide any bank details to receive money from third party? hmm.gif

Hi, does TradeStation Global allow to trade fractional shares?
*
cannot confirm. Some say yes, some say no.

Please go open an account and report back to us.

forex brokers that accept MasterCard...I know ppl can withdraw usd to BP up to their deposit limit... I think it's using "refund" method

so the BP MasterCard 16 digit is the account number... I kiasu to try wire into it for testing...
*
card number becomes bank account number? Like this also can? laugh.gif LOL!!

maybe can directly email ibkr and ask if they can deposit your money to your credit cards... easier!

can you explain exactly what you did?

if you choose bank wire, how did you fill out the next page etc etc.

if bank wire doesn't work, what about the option for connecting to your bank acc?

This is due to Transferwise refused to transfer SGD to 11-digit account number or IBKR rejected Transferwise SGD transfer? Apparently Transferwise proceeded my transfer, but it is not in IBKR yet, so I am not sure if it will be rejected.

if it works, please let us know. thumbsup.gif

i tried to buy US shares of 63, said cannot. need enable fractional shares.

raised a ticket with support, said we are not eligible  blush.gif
*
if it says like that, that means you're trying to trade fractional shares but you didn't get the permission yet.

it has nothing to do with minimum order. If min order, there'll be another kind of warning / notification.

anyone tried changing trading permission?

its says i need 2FA enabled, but i already did

is 2 FA = login from browser + authenticate with phone right?
*
I have experienced this before. After 2FA, still cannot change the permission = you're not eligible for that product!!
You can contact TSG if you want.

Usually for other trading permissions, you can change easily. Certain trading permissions have additional requirements. You can check IBKR website.

Yes, I registered my account with TransferWise and just transferred USD to IBKR. Made online payment of MYR from my local bank to TransferWise's local OCBC  account.

On IBKR side I just clicked on 'make a deposit', chose USD, clicked on 'bank wire', put 'Transferwise' as sending institution and specify the amount in USD. IBKR's recipient details came out in the next page and I used the details in my TransferWise page.
The only change I made is I only use the first 8digits of the account number given by IBKR as recipient account number.
The personal number Uxxxxxxx I put as reference so that IBKR can track.

Managed to transfer 5 times without any issues. IBKR received the money within hours and held it for 4 days before crediting to my IBKR account
*
Well done!! thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

Just another question, is your IBKR account linked to TSG or just a pure IBKR account?

I confirm that it is not possible anymore to fund IBKR from Transferwise with EUR. "We cannot currently accept payments to this recipient" is the error message. The Transferwise's support was unable to provide the reason for this.

did IBKR reject the money from Transferwise?

i have been using Trading212 for past few weeks.
basically good stuff:

a) accessible to US, canada & Europe (not fully)
b) no maintenance fee
c) fractional shares.  (from USD1)
d) no transaction fees
e) easy to deposit money (use BIGPAY debit card for almost @ spot live rate)
f) option for CFD account. i did not explore it yet

overall, great brokerage with everything laid out clearly
If ur a small amount investor who doesn't want misc fees and inconvenience, trading212 is the way to go

Basically, easy forward to open acc. doc needed : Passport, Bank account statement, utility bills. Most important of all, name and address must same and correspond to you what you have registered.
*
Question:
1. Can withdraw funds to bank account or must go back to BigPay?
2. Live market data for US, Canada and Europe?

moosset or anyone else transferred from direct IBKR account TO IBKR account (white-label) via TSG.

How to do internal funds in from direct IBKR account to new account via TGS?

I do not see the new account listed under "Destination" in funds transfer, and "Link All of My Existing Accounts Under a Single Username and Password" option mentioned in below link is missing.

you mean, to link your IBKR to TSG???

the instructions are available on TSG website, although not all IBKR can be linked to TSG.

i encounter the account in different entity issue like you guys, so what i did was fresh open an IBKR account via TSG.
So now i have 2 acc,
1. Old IBKR direct account
2.  New IBKR via TSG.

The question is: possible to transfer funds from account 1 to account 2 without going back into bank?
*
Never tried before but very likely can!

Just send them a message via the client portal....!!

Hi all sifus,
I'm new to IBKR, and registered through TSG. I noticed the spot rates for currency exchange for USD.SGD pair charges fee is higher than USD2 per conversion. For my case, I converted to USD1000 and it charged me USD2. 75 for commissions. May I know how to calculate?

Tq sifus

Look carefully!

I think it's USD $2 = SGD $ 2.75!!
