Hi, thinking to try huawei.. My current phone is Samsung s8, I have tried Iphone x as my daily driver as well...

I am looking forward to try mate 30 pro... around 2400 for new set.

-can this phone last me 5 years without severe lag etc?
-worth getting at this 2021 when mate 50 is coming out this year?
-software update (major ones) is it for a long period of time?
-GMS once installed. It will work exactly with a normal android right? with google calender and all

can't answer ur others question, as so many uncertainty there, but if u looking for GMS perfections, choose others phone.

Yea, VoWifi. When I try troubleshoot 1 by 1 related anything to WiFi. Then this WiFi calling is the culprit.

How come I don't have VoWifi? Lol...

Haha.. I using dual Sim card, only Digi have this VoWifi and Maxis only have VoLTE

secondary phone now.
No problem with performance. almost the same since day 1.

My mate 10, over the cloud update shows no further update.
But when i plug my phone to pc and HiSuite able to perform additional update Took hella long time

Waiting for promotion to replace my m20p screen.. ouch 8xx is madness.

I in this thread because i wanted to buy mate30 but ended up didnt.

I find google less, I don't need constant update app, btw those china apps I use have faster upgrade compare with google play store.
For example my wechat is v8.0 on huawei n v7.0x in android phone.

there are still apps that require google unless u dont really depend on them.

alot of my apps login is linked to google tho.
youtube main app.

youtube ? i don't use it.
and i don't use apps that use google or FB to login only cause once they have problem with me, i having big issue.

waze can use but u cannot login and collect point.

youtube mostly they use youtube vance...as it like youtube premium...no ads..
nice...and if not mistaken can play background....nvr use...so cant confirm on this

tbh if its like 1k cheaper than note10+ i would have consider it. i cant be paying top end not getting good experience .
i rather choose the one with more battery drain but full of things i need than having less

i actually owned utube prem so im kinda ok. since its not really expensive anyway if do sharing.

I can login to waze without google. No problem for me.

And I am using Youtube vance too. This is much better than the YouTube app which have no ads. The YouTube app too much ads, i find it so irritating.

I am using mate 40 pro without google as my daily driver and I don't really miss Google so much. Every apps that I use seem work fine, even Grab is on Huawei app gallery which the maps now work fine.

The only thing is carousell apps which will prompt google error when you open the apps. But after you dismiss the error, the apps work fine.

I really wish to use HSM to try out but too bad... My games cannot log in to multiple account. N games download from Apps Gallery stick to Huawei ID. Zzzzz
