Hello everyone, I am seeking for a condo unit (sub-sale) for own stay and upon visiting the unit and checking via Google Maps, I found that there's a high tension cable transmission tower within 200 meters from the balcony of the unit.

I've read multiple articles and 'research' from different sources, some saying that such living circumstances will cause long term negative health effects such as cancer and generally getting sick easily due to the constant EMF and some saying that there's is no proof to any health concerns claiming that the EMF emitted is less harmful than the normal radio waves that we're subjected to every day.

I'm skeptical to the latter point as transmission towers transmit a very large amount of electricity through it.

What is your take on this? Can living near a transmission tower affect one's health negatively?

Thanks.

Studies and researches conducted internationally by experts and recognized agencies over the years have shown no firm evidence of a link between EMF from power lines or other power supply installations and any acute or long-term effect on human health.

You have other options, so why buy this prop when you might have difficulty to resell in the future

It's actually Perdana View located at Damansara Perdana, it's just opposite Armanee Terrace, it seems that many people are living at that area, I wonder what they think...

I've also seen many projects, landed houses, condos, apartments, etc., located right next door to the htc, but haven't seen a single comment here from people living there. hmm.gif

But I agree with the rest that even when the average health expert all the way to the UN couldn't find any ill-effects of staying near one, the sentiment against it will still linger for a long time. Same goes for cemeteries.

I guess the probability of actually having negative health effect is very low and only applies to constant exposure to the EMF waves likely 24/7 for 30 years.

But since I am already wondering this question, it's best I avoid this condo for the time being.
