Hi

my baby is 1 month plus
notice he got nose block, and got some rashes on the butt there.
i think the rashes could be the pampers wearing too long.

any remedy to clear the nose block and rashes ?

is nappy cream can help recover the rashes ?

Nose block will recommend sterimar.
Nappy rash buy nappy cream - Bepanthen, Sudocream, Drapolene all can get in pharmacy.

Sometimes rashes could be allergic to diaper too. Try changing another brand and observe.

So how is your baby doing now? And how did you get his nose unblocked? My baby had a cold this week the doctor gave nasal drops and a salt water spray to unblock his nose.
I must say It was extremely challenging to put him on his side, than put in the spray in his nose and make sure he doesn't move !
I sprayed salt water extract into his eyes 1 time even bangwall.gif Does anybody have a good tip on how to spray your baby's blocked nose?

Sudocream is the best for rashes on buttock or his private area. It is super effective. No, it was not because he wore diaper for too long but you need to change it more frequently if you buy cheap ones. Whenever you change the diaper, just wipe the area with wet cloth few passes to remove the urine. Dry him before putting on another diaper.

As for nose block, if you are turning on aircond, it might be wise just to turn it off or just run dry mode with a bit of fan.

If baby breastfeed exclusively then you may need to keep track the time to change his nappy every 2-3 hours. If by bottle then change before every feeding. Always change nappy unless there's absolutely no urine completely dry. Even if got abit urine just change it.

Please change the diaper frequently even if it's not heavy. Let baby's bum 'breathe' for a while, before wrapping him in diaper again.
I use light strength nappy cream (no zinc oxide), apply very thin layer for usual. Only if red, then I will apply sudocream instead, which is stronger.
Remember to apply thin layer only.

As for nose block, I used Iliadin because the pump spray is not that strong. After spray a while, I used the nose cleaner to suck out the water and the gooey stuffs. Yeah, he cried a lot when doing this, but what to do...

A simple google search can show that tiger balm is not safe for babies

How we usually did it was we would swaddle them up first and place them flat on the bed. It isn't a requirement to put the baby on his or her side. Easier if both mum and dad are around, then one hold and the other sprays then it is time to get busy with the Nose Frida.

O the doctor said we had to turn. but you are correct without turning it's easier. I suppsoe better to spray with good skils without flipping then spraying outside his nose while flipping tongue.gif
