I have the original PS4 with 500 GB and I'd like to upgrade the HD to either 2 TB or 4 TB. From google I found that the firecuda is a decent HDD but it is only 2TB and 5600 RPM. Are there any options out there for 2 TB 7200 RPM?
Also USB ports are limited so I'd like to have the drive internally than placed in an external drive.

there's no 2.5" 7200RPM 2TB HDD at the moment, Firecuda is already the fastest 2.5" SSHD you can get now for your PS4
if you wanna faster drive? prepare to burn more moolah by using SSD

im using samsung 860 evo 1TB 2.5 inch sata 3 SSD for both of my ps4 pro system , definitely worth for the upgrades , plus seagate gamedrive 4TB external HDD ( bought from amazon ) ..

I did some more reading since my initial post and it seems like the speed of an SSD is lost on the PS4 compared to using it on a PC. Additionally, SSHDs like the FireCuda has a small amount of NAND to make a difference. So I'll just settle for increase in capacity. Ideally I'd like a 2.5" 7200 RPM 2 TB but since they dont exists I'll just go for a 5400 RPM 2 TB.

Yeap. This is true. You won’t see much of a difference with a SSD PS4. Definitely not at the same level as PC.
Gotta wait till PS5 for it to take full advantage of SSD speed.

to say won't see much of a difference with SSD on PS4 is an understatement
you'll shave off at least from 10s to 50s of loading time depending on games by using SSD
and of course you won't hit the same level as PC's speed as it's due to the architecture of PS4
PS5 most likely will be using NVME SSD either a PCIE 3 or PCIE 4 But judging from the past how the new console utilize the next gen technology, most likely it gonna be PCIE 3 only

When my Firecuda failed last year, I swap it with a ssd. Barely notice any difference. The architecture of PS4 simply does not allow the full benefit of SSD. Since PS5 will come with SSD as a default option, it should be significantly snappier.

will only recommend you replace with 500gb ssd and get one 1TB external hard disk (with USB 3.0). benefit of ssd is reducing loading time (about 20sec to 30sec).
