I have the original PS4 with 500 GB and I'd like to upgrade the HD to either 2 TB or 4 TB. From google o found that the firecuda is a decent HDD but it is only 2TB and 5600 RPM. Are there any options out there for 2 TB 7200 RPM?

Also USB ports are limited so I'd like to have the drive internally than placed in an external drive.

there's no 2.5" 7200RPM 2TB HDD at the moment, Firecuda is already the fastest 2.5" SSHD you can get now for your PS4

if you wanna faster drive? prepare to burn more moolah by using SSD

to say won't see much of a difference with SSD on PS4 is an understatement

you'll shave off at least from 10s to 50s of loading time depending on games by using SSD

and of course you won't hit the same level as PC's speed as it's due to the architecture of PS4

PS5 most likely will be using NVME SSD either a PCIE 3 or PCIE 4
But judging from the past how the new console utilize the next gen technology, most likely it gonna be PCIE 3 only
