Quicktime Player X unable to autoplay videos

Recently changed to new iMac (Mojave), but unable to use the terminal command "defaults write com.apple.QuickTimePlayerX MGPlayMovieOnOpen 1" to force autoplay videos anymore....
Is there any updated command for this. Very annoying that I need to press play for the video, and I'm using alternative app, Elmedia Player to achieve that. But I prefer going basic app. Anyone experience this? |

This trick stop working since Sierra.
Work-around for me is switching to VLC. If there are a reason you wish to keep QT, you can play the video tru Safari. Just drag and drop the file to Safari. Double-clicking still doesn't really work. As you change the default application to open the movie file from QT to Safari, certain file will prompt with security alert. |

QT is crap.
Stick with VLC or IINA. |
