actually LCD nothing bad. in fact, LCD has advantages over OLED such as no burn-in issues, eyes will not feel strain so easily while using it for long duration.

i am totally fine with LCD in fact i prefer LCD over OLED.

just that with iphone 8 plus a much smaller display (5.5-inch) has full-HD resolution vs iphone 11 (6.1-inch) has lower resolution, this part is a bit hard to swallow especially for those who have been using plus size of iphones like iphone 6+, 7+, 8+. a lot may argue that cannot really tell difference. but seriously as a plus user, i can tell that the content is not as 'sharp' as on plus size iphones. (just my 2 cents). and i believe from marketing point of view, apple has done this purposely to make sure the two product lines have some clear distinct difference to justify for the difference in price. however, to be fair, to general people, this is not a big bummer since price justifies it.

so no choice. i have to go for iphone 11 pro max instead. haha.

well, for my case, I can't really tell a big different.
My daily driver is iPhone 8 Plus, and I don't own a XR.
Just to get the idea of how "bad" a 326 ppi XR, I borrowed my friend's XR for a comparison.
TBH, I cant actually spot any major different between these two, only very slightly blur on the icon of the clock at the home screen, where XR's clock hands slightly bold than 8 Plus. Probably I am getting old and my eyesight is not that good anymore.

For comparison, I have another phone, which is Honor Play with 1080p FHD+ screen, and it can be turn down to 720p HD+ for better battery consumption. I try to spot different of two resolutions, cannot actually tell who is who. Only can tell when taking screenshot, then FHD+ resolution is clearer than HD+ when zoom in.

Anyway, still maybe I am getting old rclxub.gif

If comparing to other Brands phone, I dun think it will be accurate since Apple has the best LCD in industry.

u likely won’t see a difference in Normal circumstances such as watching video etc.

But if u are in a white background and black colour text (enlarged), and compare with ur 8 plus side by side, maybe you will be able to notice something.

but again, acceptance or not it is a personal choice. It is not the same for all and dun expect all to be the same too.

since u are happy with ur choice, u do not need to worry while others feel otherwise too. 👍

I do agree that Apple LCD is very very good. I am not comparing to other brand phone, I just trying to say that on my Honor phone which can adjust resolution, I can't spot difference. Perhaps I do not try hard enough.

And yes, white background and black text definitely can see some difference. I myself can neglect that as retina resolution is good enough for eyes. I still enjoy reading on 167 ppi kindle basic.

Of course, higher resolution is always a plus and why not having it since budget allowed. thumbsup.gif Treat and reward ourselves better.

2nd year warranty for PlusOne members?
Same here. I went from 8 Plus to X to XS Max and to XR. Can’t spot any difference with the naked eye except the blacks are deeper with the OLED displays. I must be getting old too.

LOL. Maybe there are advantages of getting old.
No need to spend extra $$$ to buy the best resolution in mobile phones. tongue.gif

Yup. I am sure for most use cases, most people are perfectly ok with the resolution. just when one has used something better then it is easier to notice.

This is also a reason of the existence of the pro/pro max models.

Like I mention, iPhone 8 Plus 5.5-inch with full HD vs a much bigger display of 6.1-inch on iPhone XR/11 with below full HD resolution. This is the part I think where those who are particular picking at. However, I understand why Apple does it. They did it becos it can justify the reasons for people to go for pro/pro Max. Seriously, if it is full HD and above, it will be even lesser people go for pro/pro max even that 11 will be popular choice by default already. Even I myself I prefer LCD than OLeD actually becos of less eye strain after long usage.

Anyway, no doubt iphone 11 should be the iPhones that most people are going for. so enjoy iphone 11. 😜

That’s a huge price premium to pay over the iPhone 11. Lol. For battery. I bought a new power bank that supports PD. Gonna leave it in the car, and only take it with me when I need it. Pro models and 11 all have 4GB ram. I wonder what’s so pro about it.

I would suggest don't leave powerbank in the car.

White or Purple leh?

I personally like Purple but not sure if it suits a fully grown man to hold a pastel colour phone into office meetings sad.gif
