technical answer is YES

BUT...there is a big but...provided your insurance company let u add-on windscreen
99% won't let u add-on directly, they will ask u to engage with customer service to add on and want u to submit lots of stuff
due to suspicion(insurance companies aren't stupid)

so if u found an insurance that let u add-on directly when renewing online
things to do is
1. don't claim directly...wait like 6 months
2. continue renew with them with windscreen add-on the following year....u don't get lucky twice

If out of the blues, you tell the insurance company that you wanna add windscreen coverage, they will ask you to bring the car in for inspection fist.

If you wait and add that when you renew your insurance, they will gladly add without any question.

I done this a few times with different cars/insurance companies.

i said the above because my car's windscreen was chipped last year(went to a few windscreen shop, all say unrepairable)
february this year my insurance is due...i plan to add-on windscreen to claim.....almost all insurance companies don't allow me to add on...all ask me to contact customer service
only etiqa allow me to renew with windscreen add-on...that was a major relieve
and i claim the windscreen last month and approved

so yeah...that's why i say i don't get lucky twice...next year am gonna continue add-on windscreen coverage

My trick is when i renew roadtax on November, i will add windscreen coverage. Waiting for 2-3month later like around January/Feb. Then i will claim.

I dont think insurance will check coz I'm using runner. But who know

it's still subject to approval

will check or not i don't know but for me, i'll continue adding the windscreen coverage the following year
and not only adding it when i needed to because i feel like i won't get lucky twice/the next time since it's a common thing/issue in WM
