Numbers are out from the stimulus bill. The government is still more focus on local government debt.

Next thing to look at are china big tech earnings coming out soon on this few weeks to see what do they signal on consumer spendings.

BABA did well. But market sentiment is still negative. Glad I took 50% profit at peak otherwise more profit will be wiped out. Seems like people still love shorting ADR.

Consumption demand is still weak, but there are green shoots of recovery and less government intervention lately.

Overall BABA business is stabilizing while the international commerce and cloud business starting to accelerate. I Look forward for atleast 30% business is under non core commerce side. Maybe by then atleast BABA might be valued more similar to Amazon.

So lets see the next quarter of reports.

bro, China bank stocks still can top up or not? The 8%+ dividends are tempting. Do you think next year they can repeat this?

Hey to think still got people here. Dividend and value wise yes, but in terms of capital gain i don’t think so.

Apart from domestic woes, i think how the gov handle the market has a very negative view by investors. So unless there is some fundamental changes or a really big bazooka stimulus there won’t be any strong tailwind for china/hk equities for the foreseeable timeframe.

my Bank of China stock is like my alternative FD. cool2.gif Can't complaint about lack of capital appreciation when DY is above 8%. I'm hesitating to add coz US markets are at all time high & negative news can cause some correction. Buffett also sold aggressively this year, so a bit scared laugh.gif

Thinking of adding China position.

Any thoughts on 3067 Hang Seng ETF? or better go directly into BABA 9988 or Tencent 0700?

Can consider Xiaomi. But had gone up quite a lot recently, maybe wait for opportunities when it’s down
