QUOTE(hengguowei @ May 6 2011, 09:25 PM) I would also like to ask about Android players such as D3 and Samsung Galaxy Player. How are those? From my personal point of view when I see those, I feel that Android is not at all a good thing to be fitted on an mp3 player unless you're looking at the video-playback capabilities. I think these Android mp3 players are a little bit of a joke. Have you tried any? How's the quality and which would fare better if you compare with J3? Thanks. I've not tried either Android players so I can't comment on the sound quality. However, judging from the reviews and youtube videos, if you were to compare the two Android device's performance in terms 'usability', the Samsung Galaxy Player wins by quite a margin. Yes, I agree that Android in the D3 seems pretty useless. Cowon is known for their long battery life, audio quality and support for a variety of audio formats... not wifi and apps. If you want a better wifi / gaming / app experience, get a iPod Touch or an iPhone or anything else similar. The D3 is, however, Cowon's first Android PMP. Why Cowon released a sub par PMP into the market is beyond me. But there has been a number of updates since then that supposedly improves some of the D3's flaws.. I have not seen videos of the latest update so I can't comment on how much of a improvement has been made. I have no doubt that Cowon's audio qualities has been passed down to the D3 (judging from reviews), whether it's an improvement from the J3 I cannot say. I also can't comment on the Samsung's sound quality as I've never had a listen to one. My thoughts about whether Android in a PMP is a good thing or not, well, I guess it depends on how well they integrate it to the PMP. If Cowon can combine both it's audio quality and the Android experience into their PMPs then I say 'why the hell not?'. This post has been edited by MrJinggles: May 6 2011, 09:44 PM

QUOTE(hahariz @ May 11 2011, 11:56 PM) I have been eyeing Sansa Fuze+. My only question is can it drive DT880/250? The Fuze can't drive the DT880/250 Pro... I doubt the Fuze+ is any better

QUOTE(hahariz @ May 12 2011, 12:03 AM) Ahh crap. I'm looking for a PMP that could read FLAC and drive DT880/250 well. Budget is around RM400. Any suggestions? (I doubt there is much choices, if there is a choice at all) I would get a Cowon J3 from you but I need to sell this extra amp first. Actually, I'm not sure the J3 can drive the DT880/250 Pro. I've never tried, my J3 was relieved by a fellow forum member some time ago. You're right... at RM400 I don't think there is a choice

Yes, the X7 (80GB/120GB/160GB) uses resistive touch screen. If you want something like the ipod touch then get the J3 or S9 or D3.

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Jun 14 2011, 12:59 AM) Is there any non-touch screen cowon with nice SQ and up to 32GB space / or with microSD support? There is none that meet your requirement. All of the Cowon models I know of have touch screen or a touch panel (Cowon iAudio 9) or no screen at all (Cowon E2). This post has been edited by MrJinggles: Jun 14 2011, 01:23 AM

QUOTE(tunertoobe @ Jun 28 2011, 10:55 AM) Yeah, the old Fuze doesn't have expandable memory.Sound quality of the old and new Fuze should be quite similar, but some does say that the older one sounds fuller. Most say they can't hear any difference. Battery life for the Fuze+ is 25 hours, or so says Sandisk, about the same as the old Fuze(24 hours). 20 hours for Cube C30. I had the C30 and Fuze+. The C30 is actually a bit easier to get used to and sounds slightly better. The Fuze+ does however win in terms of user friendliness after you get used to it. That is if you don't get annoyed by the touch panel, which can be a bit finicky sometimes. For RM400 you can get a 4GB Fuze+ and get an 8 or 16GB card with a few left to spare. Even a 16GB Fuze+ bought at the right place is under RM400. There's a forumer here called arj who sells them. I've asked for a 16GB Fuze+ and it is just under RM400. Cheaper for 8 and 16GB. If you have a lot of music, the C30 can be a handful. But if you don't, the C30 is cheaper, and the money saved can get you a decent memory card, and then more left to spend on other things. Corrections, the old Fuze does in fact have expandable memory. I own a unit. MicroSD slot.

QUOTE(GooD_DaY @ Jul 8 2011, 12:16 AM) Hey guys, looking for a mp3 for my sister as her gift, budget around RM200, from what I see, seems like everyone is recommending Cube C30 for this range, any other recommendations? Would like to try out Hippo Gumstick but the price is double right? Consider the Sansa Clip/+ See this post http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=43533705 for RMAA results. I'm aware that numbers and graphs are not everything in a player, but it's a start.

QUOTE(GooD_DaY @ Jul 9 2011, 12:04 AM) Okay, thx for the recommendations, btw don't understand those graphs actually, but Sansa looks nicer, how much would it cost and where can I buy it? Anyway, Sansa Clip and Sansa Clip + have what difference? Search the 'Music Players and Audio Related Accessories' section here in the forums, if I'm not mistaken, arj still sells the 2GB Clip+ just below RM200.

QUOTE(lolz1120 @ Jul 20 2011, 02:05 PM) Advice needed for a player with big capacity (>60gb) Fancy functions/ UI are not important to me, SQ comes first. budget is around 1k. I have done some research on cowon and hifiman and turns out the J3 is the best sounding model (or all cowons sound the same?) Hifiman's firmware is rather buggy despite all the ravings about its SQ. How does the ipod classic sound compared to these "audiophile" players? I'm using AD900+govibe martini. No dac. please suggest me Some people claim the J3 to be superior in SQ compared to the other cowon models, while others say (insert cowon model here) is better. Below, I've compiled some RMAA graphs of some Cowon models for your viewing. Hopefully, it'll help you decide. http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56713http://rmaa.elektrokrishna.com/Comparisons...0Impedances.htmhttp://rmaa.elektrokrishna.com/Comparisons...%2016%20Ohm.htmhttp://rmaa.elektrokrishna.com/Comparisons...%2016%20Ohm.htmhttp://anythingbutipod.com/2009/01/cowon-s...and-rmaa-tests/http://rmaa.elektrokrishna.com/Comparisons...%2048%20Ohm.htmhttp://iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=33522http://fs-digital.net/rmaatest.php?rmvid=137http://fs-digital.net/rmaatest.php?rmvid=59http://fs-digital.net/rmaatest.php?rmvid=5This post has been edited by MrJinggles: Jul 20 2011, 10:56 PM

QUOTE(lolz1120 @ Jul 22 2011, 12:07 AM) i see you selling the samsung galaxy as well. How does it sound compared to the j3? I've sold my J3 already and I don't personally own a Samsung galaxy player but I do have the Samsung Galaxy S2. If both the Samsung sound the same then I'd have to say the J3 sounds better based on memory.
