Hi, just asking is Cowon D3 worth the money? I need quick suggestion now or ASAP. Does it worth to sell my D2 to get this?
*
IMO, no. Yea sure, you get a huge variety of video/audio format support, full HD playback, a sexier look/interface, WIFI etc, Android (2.1 mind you) and potential Rockbox. But with performance issues here and there (read the reviews), the D3 is a NO for me not until they improve on the performance a bit more. Battery life is also not all that great, but that shouldn't be a deal breaker. Read the reviews then make your final decision.

source <--- That's what this site claims anyway. I'd stay safe and limit it a 16gb microSD. For myself, I use my C30 4gb with a 8gb microSD and I find 12gb is plenty enough even for flacs. Since it can't support 96khz/24bit files I would say you can easily fit in 12 flac albums estimating each flac album at 1gb. Of course there are lots of flac albums that goes for far less than 1gb.

Question.... why do you need a 32gb TF for use with the C30? Or maybe you wanna watch some movies on it's 3 line screen?  hmm.gif
*
Wasn't aware the C30 has video playback. Personally, 32GB is not enough storage for my selection of MP3 songs.

Of course it doesn't have video playback.  tongue.gif

Just curious, how long will it take approx to get through your entire selection of mp3 song, more than 24hours non-stop? Taking 1gb for an average album I think it's not feasible to listen to 32gb(albums) of songs at any one sitting.
*
True that I don't listen to music 24hrs in one go, but having my entire collection of songs (or most of it) in my portable player saves me the hassle of transferring songs from my PC to my player every now and then. It also makes creating playlists on the go from various songs that much easier.

Shigzeo made a mention about the Teclast and some of it's issues here in the forums. I'll post what he wrote if I can find it.

Edit: Found it, quoted from the 'Music format' thread

QUOTE(shigzeo @ Mar 21 2011, 10:38 PM)
The Teclast is a fine sounding player, but it is a disaster (worse than the Fuze) for navigation, playback, ID3, format support, stability, power management and a host of other issues. Overall, It performs well (via line out), but it isn't worth the size, the navigation pain, the file format problems.

I am the sort of bloke that hearkens back to MD and CD. You pop a disk in and play it. No problems. Why today, ten years later, do I have to buy an 'audiophile' player only to have it fail to run anywhere near as nice as a CD player? Sound of the T51 is good: nice wide stereo image, good driving potential with lowΩ and highΩ headphones/earphones/mulit armature earphones; but you sacrifice so much usability. And overall, it hisses more than compatible players, lacks gapless and a host of other features.

And, despite driving very well, it hasn't anything special about its sound other than the stereo separation, which is only just a bit better than modern iPod touch. That was the last audiophile player I bothered with (though I still have the HiSound AMP3 Pro2 and the Hifiman 602).

I keep hoping that someday, an audiophile company will make a good-sounding player that actually works and isn't just worth it to be thrown on the rubbish heap when the 'next best audiophile thing' comes out making this one seem silly.

will try to find more info on fuze..
hows ur experience with it??
batt can tahan how long??  hmm.gif

No problem bro.. the Fuze (not to be mistaken with the Fuze+) is a pretty decent player. I hate the default interface so I rockboxed my player. Now it provides better navigation all around. Sound quality seems to be the same but I'm inclined to say I prefer listening to my music with rockbox. I've never actually drained the battery completely while listening to music but if I were to give an estimate, I'd say about 10+ hours from fully charged to total shutdown although I'm quite sure it can go for another couple more hours. The Fuze does hang occasionally but it's not a deal breaker for me.

I was expecting something more informative on the frontpage but well, looks like it's more like a Q&A thread biggrin.gif
Any recommendation on what Portable Media Players have good audio quality.
I heard the iPod isn't good in terms of Audio Quality. I have always been listening to music from phones. One othe detail is I have been a pretty strong Nokia supporter. What I have realise is Nokia devices which are branded for music (in my case the Nokia X6) have a much more decent audio reproduction quality compared to other phones. The difference is very obvious. I'm guessing that's because the Xpress-Music branded devices are treated with the luxurious of a dedicated audio chip. Hence, which Portable Media Player has audio quality above par or should I get devices like Nokia X7 for music (not to forget the plus feature of a smartphone)?

Thanks in advance for any advice. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hifiman-801 if you can dish out the cash biggrin.gif or the Colorfly which is similarly priced.

Alright. Will check on those. I checked through your thread for Cowon and am actually interested in S9 and J3 which have such an extensive selection of EQ biggrin.gif
S9 or J3 is better? smile.gif

In terms of sound quality they sound about the same but because I'm biased towards the J3's extra features I'm gonna go ahead and say the J3 tongue.gif
