QUOTE(hpares @ Nov 6 2007, 08:34 AM) It seems alot ppl prefer edifier these day. Isit creative and altec lansing brand not good already? Edifier is not bad, lower range creative and altec not so good these days... and i think at the end of the day its margin.. Edifier prob gives much better spread and margin to retailers / sales people..

The price also nearby a Edifier 2.0 bookshelf speaker but this more reasonable than creative T20 R1900TIII is the choice, better than T20 and cheaper..

T20 and T40 consider is mid end speaker, Creative speaker can perform well if you have tune it by sound card or equalizer. I had a Inspire 2400 2.1 I still love this speaker so much.
While, I suggest you go test the speaker 'gao gao' at until you satisfy and differentiate which speaker is suitable to you just you decide to buy speaker because different people has different needs.

Btw for 2.1 speaker, normal soundcard will do right? Coz my DP35DP intel mobo with sigmatel soundcard cant work properly on my current 4.1 speaker. Only left and right working, rear speaker not working. But test in the program got sound, when watching movie, songs and games no sound...

Buy at PC Fair or shop both also has its advantage and disadvantage. Lets say, you buy Altec Lansing speaker at PC Fair with cheapest price. After that you found that your speaker has problem need to RMA, where you should take to RMA?! Normally the seller at PC Fair they suggest you take to any shop that sell Altec speaker and the shop may charge you shipping fees. If you buy a shop, you can direct send your speaker to them without paying any shipping fee but the price may expensive than PC Fair price.
