hmm got alot of competiting speaker around that pricetag...

i'd suggest ATP3., Edifier M3300, M3400 and even E3100....

since u don't want VS4121 cause it has no clarity, then try M33/400...
but fyi, i dont think Mseries have boom2 bass.
their bass is simple and tight.
so if u want to make it boomy., either use good soundcard., or nice decoding software to tweak it out...

but since sound is very subjective., lets hear what other LYN ppl say...
and of course., dont forget to listen to some speakers "live"...

AL VS4121 or SG BT3 will be the choice...

i don't recommend getting Edifier (unless X600+ good soundcard) since majority of their product are not designed to produce heavy bass like others.

anyway. take a look at your soundcard also, or decoding software.
i have a set of very old Sony hi-fi that involves 2 6.5inch woofer.
at first the sound (from line-in) was terrible, especially the bass part. no point cranking it up until loud. the bass cant be felt...
then i changed my sound decoding software and set in lot of stuff such as LFE crossover and Bass boost. after that digitalmod, the speaker sounds much better, and it shake my room terribly until the mouse can move itself. well of course, if i get a new hi-fi with dual 6.5 inch it will pawn the 12-years old hi-fi i mentioned far far away. but rather than throwing it. i make use of it.

just plug in the "aux or line-in or video" input behind the hi-fi.
not all hifi has this, but fortunately mine has it although its 1996 production.
then the selection, between radio, cd, tape, i choose the line in menu.

i add bass-boost and increase LFE crossover (from ffdshows decoder)
then play P.Diddy & Nicole - Come to Me. try crank that loud
(until the limit), for me is the bass is like triple of Edifier M3300 bass'


i wonder how the big subs in clubs cranked to limit playing that song.

i'd strongly encourage you to get M3300 especially if u are not into dance or techno songs.... i have it and it sounds sweet at its price. but sometimes i dun feel it has good bass to tune techno songs...

yes its good speaker if u dun want techno...
but do u listen to songs that has deep bass?
such as hip-hop or jazz...
if u did and u really concern about the bass, please listen to Edifier E3100 too.
the bass is smoother (lower)

but if adjusted from computer M3300 can also produce smooth bass. even better than E3100
its just matter of taste... for non-bass part, i have no complain about M3300...
(although u may need to know that new M3300SF is coming...)

yes i also find it that M3300 sounds too sharp at first...
as i used to set the EQ to dance or techno usually... for other worse speaker,
the sound will be more crisp. but for M3300 normal EQ will be the best...

i once listen to C2. its not so good imo. some people also said that.
but as u know, sound is very2 subjective. cant really say that M3300 is the best.
but here we're just telling the "characteristic" of the speaker so that it may guide u b4 u buy...

imo, it's better for you to go to Edifier FanClub V3 to ask some pros about this...

avoid Creative, and if possible, sub-200 logitech...
logitech done good only in their high-end products imo.

yeah E3100 is also very good. but it's not so easy to find it anymore...

try to get Altec Lansing 121i or M1310 (below 100)
or Edifier M2300 can find at 149.
or Edifier E3100, very good, around 169 some lower.
not too sure abut pricelist.

maybe garage sales or dealer pricelist forums have their prices.

How about Edifier S550D?? 10Inch woofer + dual passive radiators...
but not sure about the separate decoder and price though... but its >1K

M3300 for movie not so bad. but the "power" sometimes is not really there... but if u place d sub in appropriate place should be ok. like my setup i placed near my LCD screen. (check siggy)

avoid Sonic Gear if possible. Altec is much better. 2421 is not bad choice. it has bigger driver than 1121. summore 2421 is from class 2. where 1121 is from class 1. so 2421 should be much better. and i've listened to 2421 and its not bad for that price.

wanna ask about whether any recommendation about 2.0 speaker <100?
it must not be so big..., because i need a speaker for other desktop which in a narrow room. (otherwise i've put my jobless M3300 already ) so far i used to have genius Q06 and Q12 long time ago. but unfortunately since i like 2.1 i gave them free to my cousin.

so any recom? i saw logitech s150 quite good as well. but i prefer not usb powered one cause so far i know the sonic gear morro one is lousy (i tried in lan gaming place )

first of all, this need to be amended :

no such thing as volt RMS. its Watt RMS.

basically both products are the same, BT3 vs A5. just different colour only.
u want blasting speaker i suggest get Altec ATP3, Edifier M2300 / M3300.
Altec VS4121 also can. but surely regret buying 4121 if u like to listen music. it only good at fps gaming imo.

not absolutely better. but in my point-of-view, i would prefer these instead of BT3 and A5. no doubt u need to audition those speakers yourself. see which one can suit u better... my taste wont be the same as yours,.
