i was planning to put my rear speaker on the corner of the ceiling, then both the rear speaker face the sofa, but dont know setup like this good or not....

if connect directly from PS3 to speaker then the speaker cannot use on TV already right??

Added on May 29, 2009, 10:20 pmcare to explain why it is better to move my sofa a bit front?

actually i was thinking to setup like the picture below, the rear speaker are directly facing the sofa, and the woofer i dont think i need to bother about it, since it is downfiring, i can just place it anywhere, right?
Attached Image

if i just connect to PS3 then my TV wont be able to use the speaker lor, have to rely on the TV speaker if watch TV channel sad.gif

if L R only for left and right and not 5:1 or 7:1 then that's mean my PS3 and TV also doesn't support 5:1

ur PS3 definitely support 5.1 but i dunno PS3 only support optical or what.
if thats the case, i suggest u find out the converter.

after quick research from google, i'd say, R501 is not meant for PS3.
*
PS3 support HDMI out, rca out and optical out

i found this picture of the rear of the sub
Attached Image
the input 1 and input 2 is? and the 5.1 line in, how am i suppose to plug it while i dont have the FR/FL, C/Sub, SR/SL??

u see, normal 5.1 source, would output 3 analog 3.5mm jacks.
connect to one green, orange and black, as seen on picture.

additional 2 line in, is meant for your television stereo AUX / headphone.

the thing is, do your PS3 have the above-mentioned 3 colour 3.5mm jack?
*
my PS3 support optical, HDMI, and AV component (rca), my LCD TV support L and R (red and white/red and black)

QUOTE(gundamalpha @ May 30 2009, 09:44 PM)
You can't get 5.1 directly from PS3 with that speaker that's for sure. Whether you can get 5.1 through an amp is beyond my knowledge, and even if it can you could have gotten a better set of speakers.
*
better set of speaker? RM400 budget is too little for a surround sound system, so far i dont see any sound system that support HDMI in, unless PS3 > AV receiver > sound system or a home theater system, but that is around RM3k minimum rclxub.gif

so that's mean both my PS3 and TV cannot give me 5:1 surround with the speaker set? only stereo? or unless i plug my PS3 and TV to a AV receiver? cry.gif

You are using Sharp Aquos 66M for display right? That should have optical out, but the problem is your speakers.. I should have pointed you to the "cheapest way to get 5.1" discussion from the console couch if I bumped into you earlier.

i'm using samsung series 6 LA32A650A1R, it only have L and R out and tons of L and R in doh.gif

what is the cheapest wat to get 5:1??

the link you give me, i read all 6 pages and cant find the answer cry.gif

i think there's no way to out 5:1 surround from PS3 or TV directly to the speaker without using AV receiver or decoder...

wanna cry already cry.gif want enjoy surround gaming also cannot, few years ago my father used to own a 5:1 surround, but that time he said seldom use it then give away to his friend cry.gif should have keep it and give me cry.gif

but some sub perform well in living room, but perform well in small room, i scare the bass really no strong enough for enzo 6000

Added on May 31, 2009, 9:22 ammy living is about 10ft x 15ft, not include some other area, just around the sofa and TV there.

Added on May 31, 2009, 9:37 ameh.....the enzo 6000 i dont know have optical in or not, but i see enzo 4000, enzo 5000 i see dont have optical in at their website but enzo 7000 got optical in, they dont have the green orange and black input jack, only got red and white, which is L and R, does this means i can just plug in my speaker to TV or PS3 then i can enjoy the real 5:1 surround ar? drool.gif

Added on May 31, 2009, 9:58 amerm.......L and R jack, not clip, that's means limited length of wires unlike speaker cable, not suitable for living room cry.gif

maybe will consider the enzo 6000, but the enzo 7000 got 80 watt sub drool.gif

normal speaker cable at my area here cost me RM3 per meter, that day i go ask in lowyat plaza, it seems like all the shop also didnt sell the speaker cable, and enzo are running on L and R, which is different from speaker cable with open end.

no, each cable fot 2 for positive and negative.
all speaker cables are 2way, means got 1 positive and 1 negative.

u buying enzo 6000 right? u check the satellites use clip or RCA.
also check the connection from amp. inform here what is the connection type.
better still,  take picture of everything. no picture no idea.
*
erm....what do you mean by 2 way? means 1 speaker cable for 1 satellite?

i've found some picture of the speaker at the website, the connection is L and R, the amp there is not clip but rca jack.

this is the picture i found in sonic gear website
Attached Image
it seems like the top part is input while the bottom part is output, optical is on top, below the bar code.

Added on June 1, 2009, 8:07 pmmy phone camera are not that high quality, if take close up the picture might be blurry

rca to rca? then if the speaker mount on the wall wont it will be weird? the rca jack will push part of the speaker against the wall hmm.gif

then how about the input? the input there got center, sub, Fr, Fl, Sr, and sl hmm.gif

but since it got optical i dont think i have to worry much on the input
