erm.. my friend is using E6600... but with this sudden price cut he's thinking of changing to E6850 now. Is it worth it?? Or perhaps overclocking to 3.0GHz is better for him?? (he's on stock cooler btw... wonder if he can oc up to 3.0GHz btw laugh.gif )

And (probably discussed already before.. but I'm going to have rclxub.gif if I started to read from page one again laugh.gif ) is the difference (performance) between 1033 and 1333 fsb really that significance??

well... a change in FSB is kinda big... cuz 400X5 and 500X4 also got diff... from wat i understand... 500X4 should be faster than 400X5 and stock high FSB should give way to better OC'ing... which is the main trend now...

It's not really worth it. The E6600 is already a good proc. You can OC it higher to achieve better performance. However, if he wants the best dual-core, then it's the E6850. Not only is it runningat 3.0Ghz, it can be OC even higher!!!

So, unless he really needs that kind of CPU performance, no point getting the E6850. Better get a good HSF for OC.

Ya lor, not worth changing E6600 to E6850. Between, from anandtech its like better go for Q6600 than E6850. Even E6850 can oc up to 4GHz on air, still it require certain condition to reach that speed.
