Sharing my experience from a recent car sale. Honda City E spec 2014. Mileage 87k.
First dropped by a few car dealers and was offered 38k max 40k.
One of the car dealers is a carsome panel arranged for car viewing at residence (took around 30mins) and put it up for bidding. Fetched Rm 40400. I wasn't told the bidding price starts at 40K. rejected the offer.
Meanwhile surveyed Carsome via the website, received a call, and arranged an appt for a car inspection at the Selayang branch. It took 30mins to inspect and priced it at RM40k for direct sale to Carsome. Put it up for bidding under them. I didn't remember quoting expectations and price to start bidding. no news till 1 week later.
Dropped by MyTukar Selayang, in the same row. Walked in without an appt.
The inspection took 30mins. I received a call the next day and priced it at RM41k. Then it went up to Rm 41.5k. Didn't bother to reply back as I was expecting more. I received msg the next day from HQ and locked the price at RM42k (no Handling fees).
Twist to the story, the weekend came and about to send to MyTukar, I got a call from Carsome - car bidding fetched Rm 43200. Handling fees were quoted at Rm 500. Was charged handling fees of only Rm 250 if surrendered car within three days.
MyTukar couldn't match the price, and bidding news never came from them. So I sold it to Carsome at 3 pm Sunday. Transferred full amount by 10 pm into the bank account.
Easier way to sell car now.
Who's best? Carsome? MyTukar? Carlistbid?, Selling Cars
