Maybe your dog is allergic to something in kibbles.... you can try holistic but go for the ones with only chicken meat....

Anyway, if you see that the homecooking improves your dog's health, then you stick with it. Sometimes different dogs have different requirements. It is true that feeding fresh food will make dogs poo less.... coz the dog ends up absorbing all the nutritious stuff. Those dog food make dogs poo poo alot is coz its filled up with fillers like corn or wheat.
Yah, it is ok. Once a week is good enough coz internal organs are high in Vit A.... but it is good to give them a bit. Get the pig liver from a trusted supplier.... well, even chicken liver is dangerous too coz of the hormones and antibiotics injected into them but then we still eat. As long we take in moderation is good enough. So we just apply that to our dogs, give them internal organs in moderation is fine.

Hmmm...don't think it is the kibbles, been giving him nutriedge, orijen and innova evo.
But I notice something interesting. Before he is sick, he loves orijen but during his sickness he refused to eat it - too strong smell?? Instead he prefer something more bland like CN (I got a sample pack and test with it to see whether he is rejecting all kibbles). rclxub.gif
So he is back to CN chicken and rice currently. But the funny thing is that now he recovers, I try giving him some orijen and he eats it again sweat.gif .....

Yup, I am thinking of giving him more home cook food to improve his health after his sickness but unsure whether I am giving him is balance enough. Thank you for your suggestion to improve his homecook diet. laugh.gif I will be sticking with a half homecook food and half kibbles diet at the moment so he can still get a balance diet. tongue.gif

Hmmm, i prefer soft (but not flimsy) leash that is comfortable to hold in my hand, so I will always test the leash first by holding it in my hand and see whether it is comfortable or not. Reason is my dog likes to pull when we go walking so it is important that I get a firm grip and it doesn't hurt my hand when he pull.

Another thing I look for is the leash is not too heavy. I feel that if the leash is too heavy the dog is like pulling a heavy chain behind him (like those in jail). tongue.gif

Just my 2 cents. laugh.gif

Last time one of my ex-neighbours (several houses away) called DBKL and said my dog attacked his kid. We had to explain to the DBKL ppl that my dog ran PASS that idiot's house and his dumb kid ran into the pagar and bang his own  head. When he insist "anjing kotor tu gigit anak aku", we ask him where's the bite mark, then he shut up.

laugh.gif at the rape part* Walao, want to rape also rape other people la. Want to rape them for what. laugh.gif
Last time, the malay kids living in the kampung opposite my house always come to my front gate and kacau my dogs. They bark more than Abby and Chelsea. So one time, they throw firecrackers into my house (that's where Abby's phobia for lightning started then). My brother got angry, bought a carton of eggs and leave them under the sun.

At night, he hide in the big bushes near my house with the rotten eggs and a lastik, wearing black clothes (there was no street light there). When he saw the kids with the firecrackers, he 'tembak' them with the rotten eggs. The kids freaked out and ran away lo.

Sometimes the malay kids is a bigger and more dangerous menace to our furkids.
*
oh, interesting revenge!! biggrin.gif Sure make the kids think twice before coming back to kacau the dog again.....
I would count myself lucky in a way as the area I am staying are mainly Chinese and Indian people, which are more tolerant on dogs. Don't really face this problem so far.

QUOTE(Pennywise @ Aug 28 2007, 08:13 PM)
We all live in Malaysia, it's best that we do not bring our pet dogs near to any Muslims.

I am not too familiar but I have asked my friend before. He told me that it is said in the Quran that the angels will not visit whoever house that has dog. Or the assumption of dogs can see angels and bark to chase angels (luck) away started then.

I mean if got Malay kids, then bring your dog somewhere else la. Dont go cari pasal with them. When it comes to law in Malaysia, a Muslim versus a dog - you use your brain and think who would win? I think they will say put your dog to sleep. Then what can you REALLY do about it? Please dont tell me run them over with car and etc. Logical answer ok?

So, I say its best to avoid trouble. If we truly love our dog, we should not put them in these unnecessarily nonsensical risk. Besides, if they throw stone at your dog, you should NOT slap / hit them. Remember, in the eyes of the law, hitting people FIRST is considered wrong. I wouldnt know what might happen if you say take self-defense for a dog in this country. I dont even want to imagine.

Avoid is the best. Live in a happy neighbourhood and always supervise your dog in the outdoor rather than having them run around and get into these sort of trouble, totally unnecessary.

Once I brought Casper for grooming at Seapark Pet Supplies and a VERY modern Malay lady (around 20s yrs of age) came in, looking super sexy and bought food for her cat. The shop uncle also said, please hold your dog closely as Malay dont like dogs. The Malay girl look so modern and sexy, wearing hotpants and all but then still dont like mer. So no matter how modernized they are, dont take it for granted. Dogs naturally smell and sometimes tempted to lick them, dogs are forbidden item for Muslim so dont push your luck.

Some people, even Chinese or Indian dont like dogs licking or smelling them because naturally their nose is wet and sometimes they get too close and you're frightened, you moved, touched it - irritated and run off saying AIYERR!! or more drastic respond is to kick your dog. Just like my aunt who came over on Chinese New Year and Casper licked her hand, she freaked out and say Casper is ugly, pariah dog, why buy this dog and etc. And all her comments to pandang-rendah my dog, her own Golden Retriever at home is lagi teruk - stay in the sun 24/7. No communication, no play, dunno basic command, 1 year bath one time (chinese new year time), eat all the leftover by humans, bones, fish bones, vege all campak into a metal bowl and have zero intelligence, yet they dare call my dog pariah. See, not only Muslim hate doggys, some Chinese too (pathetic ones of course).

Very rare may think they are cute and even more rare is to keep them but then if you want to live in this country, I think we have no choice but to abide to their laws unless of course, one day something happen and they want to put your dog to sleep. No matter how disatisfied you feel, it will not bring your furkid back.
*
It is a good advice. This is no point inviting trouble if you can avoid it. Btw, I really pity your aunt's GR. Poor thing! sad.gif

Oh by the way, I bought this canned food for Casper, Australian product - Inu (one can chicken and one turkey). Anyone heard of it? Any feedback?
*
Ooh, i saw this at a pet shop before but never buy it as I don't really give my dog can food.
hmm.gif Didn't know it is an australian product, since they use the name Inu = Dog in japanese tongue.gif
So how is it?
