I am using Maxis Fibre 30Mbps The video call via Whatsapp & Wechat is terribly unstable When i switch to my own mobile data, although the 4G is weak & slow at my house, but the video call quality is n time better than Maxis Fibre It is also always lag when i play video via fb, etc. I am the only internet user at home, only 1 laptop and 1 phone connected to internet Not download anything, play games, etc when watching video or video call Is anyone experience the same and have any solution?

If you say video call on wifi unstable, it should relate to the router. If you say switch to 4G is weak inside your house, you should blame the wall of house because your house is built with thick cement. My best solution is upgrade to Asus RT-AC86U.

QUOTE(aaron80 @ Aug 16 2019, 04:53 AM) Some apartment@condo are still using copper. Landed only fibre. Anyway, if using copper. Need to check back their reading margin for that cable. Standard RGW that Maxis give to the customers are useless. If u asks me. Get 3rd party RGW like Asus for better performance and stability.

every time i do the speed test from my laptop, maxis fibre is always able to run at max speed (attached the test result) This is one of the reason that i don't want to change the old stock router to newest one besides that, i am also able to get wifi signal from this stock router even at outside of the house (the route is situated at 1st floor beside staircase, middle of the house) the only problem is the video only

Mine also 30mbps stock but newer c5v. Terrible initially but after rounds of firmware upgrade, stable now. Smooth video chats.
You may try wechat video call from your laptop since LAN is stable. If it is okay, then confirm is your router wifi issue.
