Hi, My ceiling fan is at least 30 years old now I think. So far it has been working well. Will definitely buy it a KDK fan replacement. Recently the fan bearings are going out. When I turn on I hear high pitch sound. Today, the fan just died. The controller itself has been replaced few years ago. Can I still salvage the fan or it is time to find a replacement? Ok. Can new fans last say 10 years?
Since it is now at least capacitor and bearing. Are these expensive?

Dismantle old one, time to find the broken part - this may cost you the labour charge as same as buying a new one. As compared Get new one, installer come to install, just a couple of ten minutes completed vs day to fix broken one. Unless it is simple fix like replacing capacitor.

Change it.
Electrical motor resin insulation has a finite lifespan. The longer it runs beyond its expiry lifespan the higher risk for developing micro cracks voltage breakdown and fire hazards.
Unless you have the means to resin insulation layer, remove any dirt/moisture and retest then you can argue it's economic aesthetic value to retain the device. This includes all and any associated controller wirings .
