Read somewhere that the Slash sig Wah pedal has an on/off button for both wah and distortion. I was just wondering, could this pedal be used as an OD pedal as well, to add gain or boost solos and such? If it can, then it might save me from getting an OD pedal as well. rclxms.gif

PS: Amp i'm going to use it on, Randall RG50TC. When i get it of course, haha.

Yes, it does act as an OD pedal. BUT, this wah is seriously over priced, not worth it IMO.

Although Slash gets his OD mostly from his JCM800, you could try the following:
Get the MI Audio Crunch Box and a Crybaby (preferably the 535Q for the sake of versatility, or the GCB95F for the sake of less moolah).

Raja Utara is using the MIA CB, it's certainly a Marshall in a box, can wait for him to chime in on that.

Wow, didn't know the 535Q would cost that much. So, is the Slash Wah a good deal then? Since its like an OD and Wah pedal in 1 versus the 535Q which has only wah but costs around the same. hmm.gif

Sorry. Double checked Musician's Friend....

The Slash costs an Extra 50USD there... so yes..... it IS more expensive....

Since you're on a budget, why not just get a regular CryBaby (or the Classic crybaby if you want the Fasel) and a Boss SD-1 OD (Or Digitech's Bad Monkey)....... still cheaper..

The regular Crybaby didn't get really good reviews here:

Don't want to get something cheaper but with bad quality.

never tried the slash wah
but afaik, slash's wah tone comes from a rack unit
how his signature wah pedal sounds still isn't known we all need to test it for ourselves

p/s slash uses a silver jubilee mainly
jcm800 is a backup amp =p

Yea, Slash has a rack mounted wah. I'm not really interested in it just because it's Slash', but because it can be used as a gain boost for solos and such. Haven't seen many wah pedals like that. Its like a 2 in 1 deal. biggrin.gif

blush.gif just a noobie...afraid can't comment much on the MI Crunchbox...just that last night at around 10.30pm my neighbour came knocking on my door...when i opened it, she was holding a pen, paper and a camera....then she said.."eh, i thought slash was staying here...nevermind..." then she left... tongue.gif jk jk jk just my dream maybe...

anyways...yeah, what Rossie said bout' the crunchbox is absolutely correct. it gets u very2 close to slash's tone. don't have the wah2 though. can't comment on that. u can try out at my place. but bring ur own axe and amp. mine is just an SX and a microcube tongue.gif

Well, I just helped a friend to get a 535Q around RM400. The CB is around RM450, adds up to around RM850 for two great pedals, and gives you much more versatility. RM600 for the Slash wah alone, and try to even get it at RM600. Go figure.
