I am interested to become a UI UX designer, currently still learning it and found out there's a term called Material Design for Android and IOS. I googled it and it just said there are some theme and colors requirements for doing app design. Is there anything I need to take extra note when doing the UI UX design for an app?
Any UI UX expert can help me? Thankyou very much.
Material design is a design system created by Google. From their website..
QUOTE
Material is an adaptable system of guidelines, components, and tools that support the best practices of user interface design. Backed by open-source code, Material streamlines collaboration between designers and developers, and helps teams quickly build beautiful products.
UI designers commonly originate from graphic design, or have been designing for any interface based environments. This can include websites, mobile app, software and more.
UX designers have normally studied Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or Psychology. User eXperience is essentially studying, hypothesizing and proving the actions as well as behaviours which drive the intentions.
Being a UI / UX designer is exciting because you'll acquire the skills to create experiences for various environments. But I've to agree with what someone said in a UX talk that not everyone may be able to become UX designers - it requires empathy.
While I've not designed for an app, I'd start by researching the guidelines of designing apps for iOS / Android. Maybe start reading on Google about "mobile app design guidelines" and progress from there.

There's also a ton of recommended UX books to read. A quick Google will reveal them, or you could ask the FB group members.
