I am interested to become a UI UX designer, currently still learning it and found out there's a term called Material Design for Android and IOS. I googled it and it just said there are some theme and colors requirements for doing app design. Is there anything I need to take extra note when doing the UI UX design for an app?

Yeah that's what i meant, i didn't know there are so many requirements on color need to follow when designing an app, is it necessary to follow exactly all the requirements stated in the guidelines? I prefer some freedom in design but not follow exactly all the requirements there, is it ok?
