I've been asking around for a 1TB version of the sx8200 pro.
If I manage to find a shop that sells one, I'd probably go for it since the 2TB version is only available online. |

QUOTE(Benefon @ Sep 3 2019, 11:24 PM) I'm not home most of the time. It's hard to estimate delivery time when I get last min calls and I have to travel. Courier only keep for a couple of days before they send back to sender if nobody is at home to pick it up. |

QUOTE(Benefon @ Sep 12 2019, 08:13 PM) Ya, I know can pass to anyone. But I don't want to risk it. Also, I found out that the pm981a is single sided and the sx8200 pro is double sided. Not sure if it fits or will need to flex the board a bit, but I'll see when I return at the end of the month and put an order in. Also seems like the 2tb is out everywhere. Can't even find from those vendor sites also. |

So I'm back for a few days and still can't get a 2tb drive yet.
I just cod a 1tb drive yesterday and just completed cloning my x395 to it I'm liking the extra storage. Repartitioned my os drive to 150gb and the rest to empty partition. Have 800+ gb for everything else now. Speed wise it's very close to the pm981a on sequential, but for the 4k, some is slower, some is faster. |

QUOTE(Benefon @ Sep 30 2019, 06:24 PM) Double side can fit it nicely? YaHow much u bought? Thanks your update. Can recommend which cloning software u use with? The pm981a has a thick thermal pad on the under side They stick the pad together on the SSD. Double sided nvme fits just nicely on the board. Then on the top they included a 0.5mm DIY thermal pad to dissipate heat. If you buy the sx8200 pro, you can register online and they will give you acronis software license. I used the acronis oem software to migrate the data. Very fast, very clean. But you will have a small issue for the recovery partition. You will need to resize the OS partition first and leave a part of it empty. Then the extra space behind it leave empty as well. After you boot up with the new drive, use aomei partition assistant to merge the 2 separate partition together. (Windows doesn't allow merging unless there 2 partitions are side by side, the recovery partition is in between the 2 empty ones, that's why you need 3rd party tool like aomei). Bought the 1tb at 635 The guy said he will bring in 2tb, but I said cannot wait so I just bought the 1tb. He's selling 2tb at 1099. This post has been edited by Jackie-Cham: Sep 30 2019, 08:52 PM |
