The tencent version comes with Google Framework, but no in-built Google Play store , but just need to download apk then can install easily.
It also comes with some Tencent bloatware (games, apps etc) which some can be removed if want. |

The packaging box for 12gb also different...
the 12gb version actually supports more bandwidth and slightly higher speed modem. Also, if not wrong, the casing at the heat dissipator for tencent version is metal/alumminium.. whereas original version is all glass. This post has been edited by spy008: Aug 22 2019, 06:45 PM |

Based on the spec,
Malaysia ROG2 will be the same as "global standard" model. Which is priced at $900USD = RM 3600+ Judging on that, the AP set (Tencent version) carried by local phone store which priced at RM2,999 wont be dropping anytime soon, And wont be lower than RM2,700 even after official launch in Malaysia. ROG2 launched in Taiwan on 1st August... but now schedule to get the stock on end of September...
Zenfone 6 which has been sold in Taiwan for months, till date still no news about launching on Malaysia. So, high possibility that Malaysia will only launch at end of the year. |

There's not much support for original phone is because there haven't really release the phone yet.
99% of the phone in the market currently is the tencent 8gb/128gb version. The international devices 12g/512gb just release few days ago. Nonetheless, the phone seems to be quite problematic due to poor QA/QC (which Asus always has).. abit scary.. *alot of ppl returned their sets after buying in China* This post has been edited by spy008: Aug 29 2019, 09:31 AM |

ASUS has huge problem in manufacturing their phones in time / in quantity.
Zenfone 6 till date still not released in Malaysia. ROG 2 till date still unable to fulfill Taiwan's demand till October. |

So far, there are 2 major issues with the phone:
