Frankly speaking, I think ASUS QC is not well.
The previous phone i was using is Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom (niche phone),
Anyway, all the screen provided have issues for the first few months or until half year...

The 1 i bought also got issue (white line appears after few days of usage, just like other users reported)

But I managed to get screen replacement from ASUS Warranty and solved ....

Frankly speaking, it's quite risky if buying AP set, especially with so many issues reported.

You mean white line ? That was referring to my Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom. That was 2 years ago.

For touch screen issue for ROG2 (touch screen at sides sometimes delay/need multiple touches), you can go find at Asus Zentalk forum at Asus Website Taiwan. Some China users also faced the issues.

For screen issue for ROG2, you can go taobao / JD / baidu Tieba find. There's alot of comments or quarreling on it, I believe some are true, it's abit random/lucks...
Afterall, the screen is provided by China local brand..天马屏 (alot of ppl has issues with it)

To date, only China users (90%) and Taiwan users (8%) has accessed to ROG2 phone. Therefore, you can't really find much complaints from the US or other parts of the world.

So, my tencent unit reached me last week after using sea shipping for about 3 weeks.

After playing for a week, in short, all rumors about the strength/weakness of the phone is quite true.

In overall, pretty happy with the phone at the price of RM2.2k..

Although it is 6000 mAh, the battery life is not really superb, especially using 120Hz ... though still can last for a day. (If playing game with screen on, probably only last for 6-7 hours)

Touch screen sometime may need multiple click, especially buttons at sides of screen. However, not very obvious for me cause i wasn't on intense gaming, but ppl do say after the recent update, it has been improved alot (though still got abit)

Screen flickering / white lines issues are solved as reported by many after recent updates. (Most important)

The fingerprint under screen not easy to scan.

There's no need to root your device,
ROG2 tencent has come pre-installed with Google Mobile Services, not like Huawei P30 Mate.

I personally don't use Twin Apps.
But from what i see, it only support "google play games", "QQ" & "Wechat" for twin apps with the default China Rom

Did you turn off the "battery saver setting" for WhatsApp? That will put it in sleep mode.
At first, my WhatsApp also failed to receive msg on real time. Then i changed some settings, seems ok now.

HODA tempered glass is Asus official endorsed one.
So it fits nicely.

Ppl selling RM 79 in lazada/shopee.
But if you taobao, can get at RMB 78 - 98.

Btw, for ROG2 (China Rom, not sure about WW rom), Asus has actually limit the CPU to 2.42 GHz.

To unlock 2.9 GHz without drop during X-mode, must use their AeroFan... =.=

And to use their AeroFan, has to use their AeroCase...

For China Rom (I think WW Rom will also follow suit, just there's lag in updates)

1) Last time when just launched, there is no cap of 2.42 GHz, once use X-mode can unleash the beast.. (with or w/o fan)

2) After some update (probably a mth ago), the X-mode were capped at 2.42 GHz, with or without fan..

3) there is a latest update/upcoming update (just few days ago from Baidu Forum) (*Not all phone will get updated at the same time, as Asus launch update by phases), if you use AeroFan with X-mode, can go to 2.92 GHz.

* you just need to wait for new updates *

Anyway, the temperature of the phone is kinda warm++ when playing games ..

I play COD even @ 2.42GHz, the average temperature reached 40-44 Celcius..

I'm using HODA screen protector,
quite happy till now.

Only when gaming is warm, wont feel warm after gaming.
Mayb you should open your game genie / armoury crate to monitor the pattern of the temperature..

Not sure if it's your feeling or exactly that temperature. normally my phone temperature is about 30 C.

I'm using China Rom too.
Turn off adaptive Battery and save data as per above comment should solve the problem.

I was having delay in WhatsApp notification as well previously, can be tweaked with above solution.

I would say the MY set with aerocase, cooler, 30w charger, and international firmware @ RM400 is quite ok/reasonable/worth.

If i got choice, i may opt for such.

Not sure if its Tencent model/ i accidentally deleted some bloatware wrongly..
I can receive SMS but CANNOT SEND SMS. Though ppl seldom use SMS thesedays, but sometime need to reply to Banks in SMS.... =.=

Without Cooler, unable to unleash the full processor power of the phone.

Tencent version is china pin charger.
Fo voltage wise, these mobile equipments (phone, laptop etc) usually allows voltage for all countries.

Just need to have socket changer (no need to be voltage converter)

For ease of mind, suggest to get MY set. Unless you are tech-savvy. Saves trouble.

I supposed there's alot of refurbished unit in China.. cause kind alot of complaints last time regarding the screen issue and alot of ppl sending back to refund...

If you couldnt read chinese at all, u should have & must go for MY set... (though its too late for me to say)..
Cause even u change the UI into English, still alot of things default in Chinese... (like google etc, though you may be able to change, but its hard for you to get started without knowing single chinese words)

I would say for those who would like to have peace of mind, shall just go for MY set.

I myself imported my Tencent unit from China last time, though still satisfying now, but i would not suggest ppl to do that with cheaper MY set now.

Any 1 using Tencent Version has issue sending SMS??? [I cant send]
