My son just turned 3 years old and suddenly one day he said no to rice+fish+chicken and veg.
Only relies on kids cereal (whole lots of sugar), Plain toasted bread or plain bread (the gardenia ones), goldfish cracker, cornflakes without milk.

Anyone has been in this situation and managed to resolve this?

you've already exposed them to that, it is hard to rescind
if you are willing then don't buy those stuff anymore and you can show them there is none to be had...

both parents have to be strict i suppose...

since you didn't mention noodles, that might work?
soupy stuff may be easier to consume, at least that is the observation i have on my kids

Some say let them starve. Then they will learn not to be picky.

the sudden change of appetite is normal for toddlers as their taste sensory is getting develop and can recognize taste better..

at this age, you need to reintroduce the same food with different style of cooking..

try not to give them much option when it comes to food..

Don't introduce kids to sugar. They'll get addicted and refuse to consume healthy food.

For your case, I know everyone sayang anak, but parents has to do something here. You have to cut drastically food high in sugar. Let them starve and serve them with healthy food. Its hard for few days, soon they have no choice. Remember, they are our child, they need to listen to us coz they dont know s**t what they are doing.

Sorry “let they starve” this doesn’t work at all. My daughter can skip meal and survive by milk only. Unless cut off milk?

my son is 2 years old. I never introduce him to sugary food until he will say 'yek' if i put some at his lips to taste it.
there is one time i force him to drink some teh tarik because my parents said 'jgn manjakan sangat anak tu, biar dia makan/minum everything' - that night passed his sleeping time he still jumping on the bed and laughing non stop, until his eyes shut but mounth still talking and laughing. This is scary how sugar can really affect the kid.

oh ya .. by the time my parents already tido. Next morning i lecture my parents !!!

Can have abit here and there including sweet stuff but must control.

If our kids dont want to eat their main meals (healthy food), they wont get anything after that.

I tempted my son with mobile phone while feeding the food the refuse to take. It works most the time.

Wow all of you are super parents!

Thank you everyone. Finally i let him hungry by cutting the milk and he pulled me to the kitchen and showed me what he wants to eat. All sugary snacks and biscuits are not available anymore thus he asked for bread and sausages and ate them all.

I made a mistake by allowing him to eat Oreo la so salah in the beginning :-(

peer pressure.. thats sometimes the best way to change a kid...

kids most of them want to have friends etc etc.. so if friends do this .. they will.. and then later they will understand when teacher say no means no..
also u should make them remember and if can repeat.. aka mummy say this.. daddy say this.. and they will stick to it...

Kids love sugary stuffs, nothing wrong with snacks and cereal.

Parents must show the kids who's in charge. I always have soft drinks, chocolate, biscuits, snacks, ice creams etc at home. My son dont touch them at all without our permission. The only stuff they can touch without my permission is the few boxes with gardenia waffles, twiggies, muffins.

They still dont eat vege but that's fine with me. We have cereal with choc milk every morning. Lunch they will buy fried rice or noodles from canteen and at night my mom's cooking or outside food. All you got to do is stop their Formula Milk intake around 5 years old.
