Yes, some GPs do manage patients with MDD and anxiety issues.

Try not to use medication first, it has its risk, and you are likely to rely on it for life. Go for therapy and try to overcome it.

no, not really. my depression has been there for about 9-10 years, get used to it. the reason i dont take the med is because as per advice from the doc, the med is more like a sleeping pill, makes me sleepy and sleep whole day, thus you wont think too much. it will make you feel like nothing and like numb for whole day. productivity is almost equal to none and you just sleep, wake up then eat and sleep again. in the end, will gain lots of weight. some people whose relatives took the med before told me their relative actually become very blur such as no response and like a zombie after the med for long term.

When you get a dog, the dog will mark its territory so other dogs do not invade territory unless really bad dogs.
To make sure your dog do not poop in the wrong place, you can walk your dog, take it out to poo in isolated place.
You can youtube dog training to teach dog to poo in the toilet as I see pet owners train their pet to poo into si-hang.

Obviously pet owner has responsibilities.

Maybe start off with a plant, you remember to water it everyday.

Eat more vegetables, fruits and nuts.
Stop eating process, junk, fast food.

If time permits, brisk walk for 40min per day.
If time permits, watch some nice TV programs.
Change some of your habits into positive activity.

In the end, all that matters are people who love you.

Break from routine and habits is also opportunity to feed new data into your brain.
Chinese brains automatically compute 1+1 = ...
So unless you feed new data / info.... the depression will continue to conclude with existing data.

Glad you had a good laugh with "Get a dog"

The nature of the said medical condition need to be approached in a holistic manner. Medication alone will not have lasting effect toward your life.

Recommended for you to ask the GP to refer you to a center with the facility to treat your condition for more long term support.

Hello, yes depression is quite common mental disorder and the statistic is very high among our population. Every clinic should have both anti-depressant or anxiety medicine but what is more important that it must be prescribed correctly otherwise it can have sad consequences. Some people prefer to order online like this source cbdoilboard.com/. Keep in mind that it's essential for me to be advised while choosing online medicines

Before you jump into any antidepressant pill, take a look at how this medicine affects your life - https://www.webmd.com/depression/features/a...ssant-effects#2

You may try out meditation as an alternative. Check out meditation like mindfulness, vipassana, and etc and follow their courses.
Just my 2 cents

There are various types of medications used to treat depression. The main categories are Antidepressants, sedatives / tranquilizers, antipsychotics. Here is a long list of approved drugs: https://www.webmd.com/depression/guide/depr...antidepressants.
In addition, my friend suffered from depression and sometimes used male amplifiers. Specifically - the Hammer of Thor capsul. But there are others. They contain steroids and hormones that give a short-term tonic effect. But this is a very dangerous thing.
Remember that pills for depression should be prescribed by a doctor!

Hi,

Antidepressants can be bought at pharmacies (with prescription of course.)

There are different types of antidepressants - some makes you sleepy and some does the complete opposite.

The choice depends on your condition:

If you have trouble sleeping at night, you should get the sleepy ones.

If you don't have energy to do anything in the daytime, you should get the non-sleepy ones. They are a bit like caffeine, they makes you more alert and at the same time improve your mood.

The sleepy ones are older antidepressants and are much cheaper.

Antipsychotics are not typically used to treat depression unless you have other symptoms associated with your depression. Almost all antipsychotics cause drowsiness.

Before you go on antidepressants, you might want to consider these supplements:

Most evidence-based:
1.) SAMe (S-adenosylmethionine) - unfortunately I don't know where to get this in Malaysia. You can probably try online?
2.) Vitamin D
3.) Zinc
4.) St John's Wort

Others with less evidence to support:
1.) Ashwaganda
2.) Rhodiola rosea
3.) EPA (found in fish oil or omega-3 supplement)
4.) N-Acetylcysteine

Please note: Some of these supplements should not be taken together with antidepressants (SAMe & St John's Wort) so please consult a medical professional before starting any supplements.

If you want to research on supplements, you can refer Examine.com.

Hope this reply is helpful.

Yes, puddy dogs can be therapeutic. Also workout helps a lot. If you are fit enough, CrossFit will be great because it also provides community. Being social is always good for mood change.

yes they do.. well should do.. its a common affliction so GPs have to know how to diagnose, score and treat it. Major Depressive Disorders, Depression with Persecution, Resistant Depression and some other forms tho, are in the realm of the Psychiatrists
