I had an old Myvi 2006 that I still keep although seldom use
Last month spent 300 change aircond magnetic clutch..
Seems like many things starts to fail aging

Latest problem today is when I press accelerator
There is small vibration with loud rattle sound from rear left area
But when I don't press, there is no sound while the car still moving smoothly like normal...
Only when I press accelator got this sound
Tried at different speed 30kph/90kph still same..
Any car sifu can advise?
I really hate going to Workshop kena chop lagi...

Update:
Changed engine mounting 1 set
Problem solved
Feels like new Myvi again lol

it's a more than 10 year car.. of coz need to change a lot of things..

regarding your described issue, could be a lot of things to check;
- absorber mountings
- bushings
- arm
- rear bearing

tell us where your home area is, maybe /k can help recommend trusted workshops

I think this is likely the cause. During hard acceleration, engine vibrate more and shaking the exhaust

I see. I don't own MyVi, but does it exhaust pipe runs straight from engine to the back? Muffler also straight? I'd still think some loose bracket that hold the exhaust piping. Most common on old cars.

Sounds like bushing related, or the CV joint driveshaft.

For my case ABS light is on, but not sure where to start to look into. Just suddenly got AbS light. Still dan drive and braking is OK without ABS.

Anyone?

You need black tape to cover the abs light on the dash.
If dont want, clean or replace all the abs sensor on each wheel.

Suggestion. Jake up your left side. give your tyre a hard shake.
if there is a lot of play, your wheel bearing might be the problem. or the ball on the arm
rear side arm got ball or not? i'm not sure.

and ya, undercarriage noise is dem cb

Rev when stationary at N got similar sound?
or only when moving around

sound inconsistent like going through bumps? or consistent frequency sound when moving
most likely less than rm300 can fix if you specifically want to fix that one problem only

Oh ya haven't try rev at N
Tonight after work go back try

When idle no sound
When driving at any speed e.g. 30kph/90kph:
1) No press acc pedal, car still moving, no sound
2) Press acc pedal, sometimes no sound but mostly got sound

The sound seems like window rattling sound
But I tried unwind window one by one still same

I drive 2008 Myvi. The last few months have been targetting to change a few things to improve everything this car is at fault. If you never changed anything on the car for 10 years, i can confirm these are the few items that will cause noise.

- Absorber mounting (upper rattling sound, clunking when go over bumps). Replacement about RM200 ish.

- Brake caliper pin (lower mid rattling sound, sound will dissapear if you apply brakes) Replacement depends silicone damped pins, RM20-RM80.

- Engine mounting (mid rattling sound, or clunking when go over bumps) Replacement around =>RM400.

If you can change these 3 things, your Myvi good as new.

It is part true. The air cond is not maintenance free part. You need to pay at least RM700 to do part service that includes cleaning the coil, changing the exchange valve, cleaning the blower, replacing the oil, top up gas, replacing corroded hose and more. It would cost near to RM900-1000 if you opt to change the radiator fan motor & radiator plastic top housing. If your compressor done for, that would definitely cost RM2000. Should do it at around 30-50K mileage.

I tell you what my mechanic told me was true.

- 2006-2012 Myvi all radiator and cooling coil are single fan powered. So if the radiator fan fails, the air cond is at its mercy. You get hot air as first indicator.

- If you change the fan motor, you have to.... I SAY YOU HAVE TO change the plastic radiator top housing. That is also the weakest part of the cooling system. Constant low water in radiator expansion tank is an indicator.

That's expensive magnetic clutch. Changed mine for 120. Myvi 2011 lah tapi.

I normally go external workshop rather than perodua's. Last time they told me to repair aircond which costs more than 2k. I sent to external workshop, 120 for that clutch.......

No wonder my wife’s myvi SE 2008 always got problem with aircond.

Replaced aircon magnetic clutch 3 times, then changed the compressor once then the radiator top plastic housing too.

Too much maintenance i must say, especially for aircond system.

Yes, sentimental value sometimes clouds our judgment. If you are not willing to spend any more on repairs, time to let it go.

No other way around it. Because they designed the engine cooling and condenser cooled by a single fan. My mech did suggest adding a second fan on the condenser side to increase cooling performance. Which will work. But i saw a local shop that can fit a new gen radiator fan from Myvi Lagi Best to old style myvi fan that should solve all the problems once and for all. laugh.gif

Engine mount all 4 pieces is just less than 300rm. If include workmanship should be around 400rm

My 2010 Myvi also having the same problem like you described.
But there is no vibration if I stop and start after driving for 15 minutes. What could be the reason? Not sure if this is also engine mounting issue.
