I drive 2008 Myvi. The last few months have been targetting to change a few things to improve everything this car is at fault. If you never changed anything on the car for 10 years, i can confirm these are the few items that will cause noise.

- Absorber mounting (upper rattling sound, clunking when go over bumps). Replacement about RM200 ish.

- Brake caliper pin (lower mid rattling sound, sound will dissapear if you apply brakes) Replacement depends silicone damped pins, RM20-RM80.

- Engine mounting (mid rattling sound, or clunking when go over bumps) Replacement around =>RM400.

If you can change these 3 things, your Myvi good as new.

I checked with local workshop, myvi first gen usually have aircond problem. Last week, my sister myvi car need to change aircond compressor, condensor and others. Burned almost RM2000 to change it.

It is part true. The air cond is not maintenance free part. You need to pay at least RM700 to do part service that includes cleaning the coil, changing the exchange valve, cleaning the blower, replacing the oil, top up gas, replacing corroded hose and more. It would cost near to RM900-1000 if you opt to change the radiator fan motor & radiator plastic top housing. If your compressor done for, that would definitely cost RM2000. Should do it at around 30-50K mileage.

I tell you what my mechanic told me was true.

- 2006-2012 Myvi all radiator and cooling coil are single fan powered. So if the radiator fan fails, the air cond is at its mercy. You get hot air as first indicator.

- If you change the fan motor, you have to.... I SAY YOU HAVE TO change the plastic radiator top housing. That is also the weakest part of the cooling system. Constant low water in radiator expansion tank is an indicator.

No wonder my wife’s myvi SE 2008 always got problem with aircond.

Replaced aircon magnetic clutch 3 times, then changed the compressor once then the radiator top plastic housing too.

Too much maintenance i must say, especially for aircond system.

No other way around it. Because they designed the engine cooling and condenser cooled by a single fan. My mech did suggest adding a second fan on the condenser side to increase cooling performance. Which will work. But i saw a local shop that can fit a new gen radiator fan from Myvi Lagi Best to old style myvi fan that should solve all the problems once and for all. laugh.gif
