Wrong. All pickup truck no excise duty at all without exception. Only need to pay SST except labuan and langkawi. Non ASEAN made CBU unit need to pay 30% import duty.
Van got 2 types. Panel and window.
Panel van means back no glass windows , all solid panel. These type of van also no excise duty like pickup truck because consider as commercial vehicle like pickup truck.
Window van need to pay excise duty but lesser than car if declared as passenger vehicle. Depend on manufacturer to declare as commercial or passenger vehicle.
Example: Merc Vito Tourer was sold almost half the price of a V class just because it is declared as a commercial vehicle.
