QUOTE(coolblade @ Jul 1 2007, 01:40 PM) @LYR Can you post the pic of the monitor? Show the back of monitor, that house the port of power connector and VGA connector. If the power connector cable is detachable, why not you plug a power cable directly from the monitor to any powerpoint? yes. it's detachable. VGA connector is not. so, i can just plug the power connector cable to replace it? the power cable comes with my new CPU casing can? it's fixed but i dont dare to switch it on.

QUOTE(LYR @ Jul 1 2007, 01:31 PM) need help guys. i got a 8 years old monitor from my friend in which its power cable is plugged into power supply instead of main switch. i'm afraid that my power supply wont be able to power up both monitor and my CPU and i have no money to upgrade my power supply. so, i would like to know if i can change the power cable of the monitor so that it draws power from main switch, not power supply. is it possible? buy 1 more female cable to connect to the wall socket.

currently my spec is at my signature, Acbel 550PSU monitor panel showing total power usage is about 274w during full load and 3d games, some time goes up 285w. this is more than 50% of the PSU capability.
