Dear sifus, For quartz tabletop of kitchen cabinet with alu carcass, is it possible to install the quartz (to be placed on top of wooden layer) first, then cut the opening for induction stove later on after the stove is purchased?
Reason is the house will not be occupied at least for the next few years and any induction stove bought now would be obsolete by then. Reason to install KC now is due to the need to utilise developer-given voucher by certain time.
For space, kitchen cabinet maker says he can leave a space of up to 100cm to cater for stove requirement, which usually doesn't go > 90cm.

QUOTE(wira1979 @ Feb 21 2023, 12:30 PM) No problem. Just that you'll be charged a bit higher later to cut because of transportation, etc. More important is to have the necessary power points ready. Thank you. Good point about preparing the power supply.

Dear All, I'm looking to install a dish drainer (or dish rack) in kitchen cabinet. The cabinet installer recommends that I get 900mm type.
May I know: 1) what to look for when choosing a rack?
2) are all racks "plug-and-play" when it comes to replacing a rusty/unsuitable rack in future? As in no need to modify existing cabinet when replacing the rack in future.

Dear all, for a quartz table top that's about 12' long, will there be a seam where they join 2 pieces of quartz slabs?
Or is it possible to have one complete slab for this size?

QUOTE(wira1979 @ Aug 4 2023, 11:46 AM) Yup, there will be a seam but usually the contractor will try to join the 2 pieces at an inconspicuous place (maybe at the hob, sink, etc.). As for the size, the usual brands like Silestone and Caeserstone only go up to 3.5 m. Maybe can find marble or granite if you don't want to have a seam. I see. Thank you for your reply. Will ask if they can join at the hob area as I try to avoid having a seam at wet area.

Dear all, for quartz kitchen top, what are the cons of doing edging (sorry if this is incorrect term). I'm aware that edging will shorten the usable height of the bottom cabinet (aluminium carcass). Edging gives the impression of using a thick kitchen top material, more atas look. Appreciate any advice or experience sharing. No edging, just polish. Edging

QUOTE(wira1979 @ Sep 12 2023, 10:15 AM) More expensive maybe? Also, more prone to breaking as it's basically 2 pieces stuck together. I personally went without edging, but more for aesthetic purposes as I wanted a minimal looking kitchen. Just need to top up a few hundred ringgit. The reliability due to joining is my main concern too.
