Hi all, want to ask for your opinion/ suggestion.

I bought a condo unit (to be completed next year) which comes furnished with kitchen cabinet, hood & hob and sink. Recently I found out about the kitchen cabinet design (in the pic). Personally, I would like the top cabinet to be built all the way up to the ceiling for more storage; a big sink and a side-by-side hob. Besides, I would like to build additional kitchen cabinet to form a galley style layout, so I am afraid that the cabinet material and design won’t match. I have asked the developer, if I choose to opt out, I might not get a refund.

What’s a better option? Ask developer to leave the cabinet materials there (but not built) perhaps I could reuse the materials? Or remove/ modify the cabinet after I move in? Or opt out and no refund...

Is it possible to know what kind of material used in this table top? There are
some stains on it, and I am wondering if I can remove it with some chemical or cleaning agent?

Hi all, would appreciate comment from the experts.

I recently ordered a IKEA Knoxhult KC online and I'm planning to assemble myself. The place that I plan to put this KC is around 1.9m with an existing pipe at around 1.2 m mark. I'm planning to get a plumber to install the cabinet for me and cut the counter top to install another sink.

My question is, will it be an issue if the piping (1.2 m mark) is the same place as my kitchen frame? In this case, can I ask the plumber to move the piping to slightly right so that the pipe can sits at the right cabinet? Thanks sifu

I haven't really measured but I would estimate the frame to be sitting in the middle of both pipes.

Just gotten a quotation from kaodim, around 500 to install the sink and adjust the pipe location either by hacking the frame or to hack the tiles to move the pipe slightly.

Hi, I'm a first-time house owner and on a budget. My kitchen is small and a simple KC would do. The Hood n Hob, sink I can outsource myself. Would you guys suggest Ikea KC or not? Is it cheaper?

Hi, I am planning the KC for my new house. Originally I want to do a concrete kitchen counter and then install the plywood cabinet. But I’ve seen many samples and they are very ugly because the counter top part will be very thick.
Do you guys have any idea to protect the kitchen cabinet from water damage? Cause worry that maybe wanna wash the floors or something in the future

ikea can offer 12 years warranty for KC but y other shop max 5 years only and their price  more exoensive than ikea?

Yea this is one of the way I could think of. Is there anything that I need to take note of if I doing it this way?

Can I know what's SBS range limiter Sensei? The fridge that I intend to get is 855mm so I guess it's enough for the fridge cabinet. Thanks for highlighting that out!

Btw, what do you think about the quotation? I've made a similar layout plan in Ikea app and it cost around 12k without installations and kitchentop(So I assumed it will be around 16-17k in the end). However, I know Ikea used better quality of chipboard & hardware(compared to most of the local carpenter offer) but will it last longer than plywood that local carpenter using in long term? 

Well, it's the word from the carpenter himself. Perhaps I shall ask him to put the black and white into the finalise quotation for better assurance?

Btw, I never agree to a fridge cabinet in my place.

hi guys, i need opinion here.

i have a big sink (work station) and together with gas hob will take up to 80% of the counter top, which mean if i use quartz stone, only 20% left. very wasteful, any other alternative on the material ?

another question, can we do gas piping routing from Yard to the indoor kitchen, usually the contractor know about this ?

Hello All, I'm asking about the "Toilet sink cabinet" here, since I think it should be similar to kitchen sink?`.

Would like to install a simple cabinet below the toilet sink, and not too sure if the Ikea base cabinet, must it use together with Ikea sink? or it can be fit with the existing sink?

Does anyone of you have experience on this before?

Hi sifus, I might be planning to buy subsale house.

I wanna ask ya, if the house already got KC like in the picture, but I don't like the color, is it possible to keep the frames but just change the doors and hinges?

I believe that's much cheaper than paying to break down the whole thing and rebuild right?

Also, is it possible to change the tiles in between the top and bottom KC without too much trouble?

But there is 3 years warranty for that premium price.

I'm looking to replace one custom cabinet door with clear glass.
The frame can be either white wooden or aluminium.

Now, many cabinet makers have minimum order of certain amount.
They don't accept small order for one door.

Can anyone refer a shop which can accept small order for custom made door?
I have found one in Lazada/Shopee but it doesn't ship glass door...

Already did this.
Most alu/glass shops will not entertain such request too.

That's why I wish to check out if there is any specific vendor willing to do this.
