hi all,
notice there are a lot kitchen cabinet pricing but all comes with different spec.. I am looking at what they claim full aluminium kitchen cost about $10k with quartz top .. but I am also looking at option to built concrete table top with tiles and aluminium cabinet..

which option should I go for? which one is more less hassle maintenance and more robust usage?
*
How long is the cabinet you want? Top and bottom?

thanks again everyone for your input..

just another opinion.. do you guys put ceiling fan on your kitchen?

Better ask the one from your family who use kitchen a lot whether he/she need it.
Btw for alu KC you can try sunshine, bleno, unity, apresi but I believe unity and apresi on higher price side.

Hi sifu-sifu, can someone share some thoughts about this quotation below where I just got quoted by a Capenter. Carcass using plywood, KC height 8ft tall.

1. Kitchen L-11ft wall unit & base unit = RM9,900
2. Kitchen L-2ft Tall Unit = RM1,500
3. Island L-7ft x W-2.2ft = RM4,200
4. Kitchen Fridge Cabinet L x 3ft = RM1,800
5. Quartz stone kitchentop 11ft for base unit + 7ft for island = RM3,680

Above quotation included one vertical row of drawers at base unit, all soft close door, door hinges & open hole on kitchentop. Total 21k and 50% deposit needed upon confirming. Is this quotation sound reasonable? icon_question.gif

My L shape 15+5ft aluminium cabinet which includes bottom & top units only cost 22k.

Mind if I ask is there any tall unit in your cabinet or just top and bottom unit only? It’s that being say the quotation I got is towards to the high side? Many thanks. smile.gif
*
Nope, no tall unit but only top & bottom, top unit reach ceiling.
I'm not sure about market price but imo yeah it's high and with that price better go for aluminium cabinet, unless you prefer wood style.

So i'm thinking the way to doing it is to ask my plaster ceiling contractor to box it up before install the metod kc(if Im using ikea kc) with a minimum gap between kc and plaster box just to create that similar to 'full ceiling feel'.
*
If there's gap between KC and plaster, won't you worry about the dust accumulate there and hard to clean?

I wanna ask ya, if the house already got KC like in the picture, but I don't like the color, is it possible to keep the frames but just change the doors and hinges?

Also, is it possible to change the tiles in between the top and bottom KC without too much trouble?
*
Yes you can change the doors and hinges, once I visited a supplier and they mentioned that one of their customer bought 3g doors and soft close hinges from them and install himself, may check for link below.
https://www.3gdoor.com.my/

Regarding the tiles in between cabinet better check with your contractor first because even if it's possible, I believe it take time and skill.

Sometimes if I request for lets say A B C D, they seem to purposely left out C and D so that they and I need to revisit the drawings and have to discuss again and keep delaying again.
*
Is that you the one keep changing design or they're the one request you to change?
Wonder how many deposit you paid, if just few hundreds usually can't get back in this case.

a number of things ie led lighthing, power plug socket rearrangement, wirings for tv panel and on. end up have to explain to factory workers when they came for 2nd measurements. now the waiting game continues. the factory guys said they will install by end of Dec this year. dont know to trust that promise or not. I felt betrayed anyway.
*
So it's not just KC but also other cabinets as well, and sounds many changes on the drawing too. If everything is confirmed by now and they promise install end of Dec, you should wait then.
You could visit their office just to make sure it still operating, perhaps they have too much orders to take care and focus on those confirmed orders, so delay those not confirm yet one.
