My wife was given iron by the doctor during her pregnancy.

It is better to get advise from doctor instead of getting your own supplements.

My wife took folic acid for first 3 months, which is given by dr.
4th month onward, will give multi vitamin.
We will check with Dr this coming weekend as this weekend mark of 4th month now.
Our first time, kinda excited but also worry.
See what i can do for her and our baby.
Thanks for the input.

My wife is 25week pregnant now and has been taking folic acid & Blackmores pregnancy & lactating multivitamin since the first week of pregnancy.

Started taking VitaHealth LiCal (Calcium) complex when she's 16weeks pregnant until now.

Pharmacist & doctor did not recommend taking iron pills anymore since our Blackmores multivitamin has sufficient iron and excessive iron will cause constipation.

Now started to take Nestle mummy formula milk.

Pregnancy must be planned. Go to the doctor and pass all the necessary tests, he will prescribe the necessary vitamins for you. Useful substances need time to accumulate and begin to act. Therefore, it is better to take them before pregnancy to minimize unpleasant consequences.

Currently at my 2nd trimester and taking:
1) Appeton Prenatal Vitamins (Other famous brands are either too large for me to swallow or smelly cuz it contains fish oil)
2) Neurogain (other prenatal vitamin brands contain fish oil but appeton does not. so i supplement it with this)
3) Caltrate 600 + D (I take this in the morning after breakfast/lunch and the rest after dinner. Best not to mix with the rest of the supplements)
4) Folic acid (1 tablet per day - this was actually leftovers from first trimester. will discontinue after i finish it as the prenatal vitamins already provides sufficient folic acid requirements)
