When you go for old cars, you need money to replace wear and tear parts.

Yes, spare parts are lots but you still need money to buy it.

I used to own old Benz, never ending problem with power steering pump, pneumatic pump, brake pump, brake booster etc. It does come with spare part kits, but quality is soso, other problems are radiator cracked, bearing broken, rubber brittle, leaking rain water, petrol smell, engine mounting, screw broke on engine, aircon compressor kong.... That's just part of the story. And the worst was rust, and shops really dunno how to stop it even with antitrust coating. The old metal they use is not like nowadays tin milo. So more difficult for bodyshop to work with.

what the point of buying if transplant needed 

This was my 1996 Mercedes Benz S280
Had it for few years, superb car especially on comfort and very solid
Lots of safety features too, 4 airbags, ABS, SRS etc
Few wear & tear parts need changing but nothing major, all switches working flawlessly

Love this car but had to let it go because moving to a new car
Might buy this car again in the future though as collection
Roadtax is RM1,600, and fuel tank is 100L

Used to own W124 too, pass down from my dad.. that was when my love for Mercedes starts to bloom
Superb car too (and mine was manual! Haha)
Yeap because JPJ charged per cc.. imagine S320 (3199cc) is 400cc more and the roadtax cost is RM3050.. S350 (3499) roadtax is RM4380

100L so you no need to refuel so frequent
TBH the FC not so great (weights >2tonnes)
During Pak Lah's time when petrol was RM2.70/L, this car was grounded
