wonder if anyone has done battery heat shield for their cars.

any good suggestion/material?

I think this is something that is not practical. Shield from what? Engine heat. The whole engine space chamber is already hot, how to shield. If you put battery in an enclosure, the battery itself generate heat

Ayam usually open the car bonnet and left it that way for hours after arrived home to cool down the engine compartment.

batteries get hot more from charging than ambient heating , so better let battery breathe than insulate the heat in

i'm not sure if you notice, new models car, nowadays do come with battery heat shield.

you will be surprised, with this heat shield, there's really no heat on the battery.

I never thought it was considered as heat shield laugh.gif It is just plastic and sponge

Someone said their Merz (i think) battery at rear bonet, claim can tahan longer because engine hot make the batt faster rosak.

Last time car did not have this and the battery lasted no less than current battery life on average laugh.gif

The plastic material can buy from those art shop + insulation pad with aluminium layer from online.

My Axia has it. Last time my Viva did not have it and the battery even lasted 4 years+ in one instance. I'd say average is 3 years.

My current Axia also get at least 2.5 years at least.

I don't see any difference.

Yes. I thought it was for protection against metal knocking or to prevent battery clamp from scrubbing battery smile.gif

Anyway my previous Century batt lasted 5 or 6 years without any such shield so im pretty sure its useless
