Introduction

In conjunction with "Visit Malaysia 2007", Majlis Perbandaran Pulau Pinang (MPPP) in collaboration with Kelab KOTRT Taman Perbandaran also known as Knights Of The Round Table (KOTRT) will be organizing the first ever adventure race in the state of Penang.

The race is scheduled to be held on July 28 and 29 2007 at the South West District of Penang Island known as Balik Pulau. This event will be open to all participants from both local and international adventure racing community. The organizing committee is targeting a participation of at least 50 teams.

Participants from Central Peninsular (Kuala Lumpur) and Southern Peninsular (Johor Bahru/Singapore) will be provided bus transportation to and fro Penang on the first come first serve basis. Kindly refer registration form.



Race Format

This will be a 6 - 8 hours race. Participants will be presented with physical and mental challenges along the entire race route. The team that finishes the fastest after completing all the challenges shall be the winner. The race consist the following disciplines below:

. Mountain biking

. Trail/ off road running

. Rope works

. Water activities in the sea

. Physical challenges



Race Category

There shall be only 1 category for this race that is Team category where each team must consist of 3 members regardless of the team member's gender. The team can be all men, all women or a mixture of men and women in any ratio.

heard about this race for some time.. really interesting format.

But too bad, i cant afford my own mountain bike :S
will still hope to go and watch the race

too heavy for me now.....

Hmm.. Ironman maybe. But definetly not Eco Challenge. I watched the real Eco Challenge before and you really have to wonder how they make it through the whole thing...
