Which normal plan are you referring to? There's no "Normal Plan". It's either Talk, SMS, Easy or Total plan.

Where got subplan in Total plan?

012/017 are still using old plans which are Talk or SMS. Some of them have been converted to Total Plan.

New prefix 0142 can come in either Total or Easy plan; depends on which SIM pack.

It's confusing.

Just think as below:

Old plans (with old numbers) ---> Talk/SMS
New plans (with new SIM pack and 0142 prefix) ---> Total/Easy

No switching from old to new plan or vice versa.

Total Plan is just introduced few months only; where got years!

Only Total, Talk and SMS plans have Activ5. Easy Plan doesn't have Activ5.

Currently the allowed switching is Talk plan <---> SMS plan

No switching from Total to Talk/SMS especially for those who did the conversion.

No swithcing from Total to Easy at the moment (but might have in the future).

Both Talk and SMS plans have one country, one rate.

Sooner or later, Maxis will get rip of the old plans.

That's the PERMANENT switch or better to be called as CONVERSION.

Easy Plan comes only in new SIM pack that has 0142 prefix.

There's no plan at the moment to offer Easy Plan to old users and no plan to have switch between Total and Easy plans.

Previous marketing strategy from Maxis is to target customers who either call a lot (Talk Plan) or SMS a lot (SMS plan).

Now they changed to monthly average usage which Easy Plan for less than RM30 and Total Plan for more than RM30.

Total Plan suits for those who used more than RM30 per month. Advantage will be on Activ5 and 50% daily discount if your daily usage exceeds RM6.

Easy Plan will offer double reload validity period and short/budget calls. It is targetting those use less than RM30.

The cons for both plans will be calls are divided into adjancent, non-adjacent and local calls. These are not seen in old plans.

When Talk and SMS plan were first introduced, the default plan is TALK.

For college/university students, you can always activate Campuszone. Campuszone is also only available for Talk, SMS and Total Plan. Easy Plan doesn't Campuszone.

It's not as simple as that.

Let me summarized from that URL.

Within the same region, it's LOCAL.
Two non-same region, it's ADJACENT.
Between East and West Malaysia, it's a NON-ADJACENT.

Who said new plans is One Country, One Rate!

When you read the call rate tables for Total & Easy plan, there're words like Local, Adjacent, Non-adjacent appear in the table.

One country, One Rate that Maxis and DiGi was promoting was only applicable within the same network.

DiGi redefined that in their latest marketing strategy by offering one low flat rate to any numbers in any network regardless anywhere. The catch is to spend more than RM30 per month.

DiGi's version is called Community Zone and you don't have to register for it.

DiGi's community zone is not limited only to colleges/universities.
