Hi all, my girlfriend's iPhone X is unable to turn on this morning after going to sleep last night. I've tried hard reset it but it didn't work as well. The phone is fully charged. Is there a way to troubleshoot this problem? If possible, without wiping all the data in the phone as she has not backed up yet.

I encountered the same symptom on my iPhone 7.
I sent to the repair shop. The technician just press the home button and power button until the apple logo comes on.
Its back to normal.
Not sure if your iPhone X can recover this method.

Yeah, going to the apple store/service centre is the last resort. Both of us are at work now so do not have the time now to send it to the service centre.

Apple devices sometimes freezes, you can google the information. My iPad had that problem once. Before you take it to the CS, a process of elimination, can you try plugging your X to the PC/Mac to connect to iTunes, if it can read your iPhone than your X is ok (you will see the Apple icon), if no connection open your iTunes manually and leave your iPhone connected for another 5 or 10 minutes. If that doesn’t work, another option is to plug-in your X to a charger and leave it for 5 / 10 minutes. My iPad took 7/8 tries before it woke up.

If your X wakes up, did you recently downloaded a new app. It could be a rogue app. Delete the app.

Seems like it is logicboard problem according to service center. I have tried all solutions mentioned but still nothing. iTunes couldn't recognise the device at all.

If replace logicboard, will the data be erased?

Sorry to hear that your iPhone X has hardware problem.
If they replaced the logic board, I don't think you can get back all the data.

I was lucky that my iPhone 7 can revived eventhough my phone has the same symptom.
1. Cannot power ON
2. Connecto to iTunes, cannot detect the iPhone
3. Connect to charger, it doesn't charge.

The technician was quick to try his diagnostics after I explained to him my problem.
Took him 20 seconds to revive my iPhone and it was FOC.

The 3 symptoms you listed is exactly the same I am facing now. What did the technician say the problem was? Also, which service center you went?

Thanks.

The technician just press the home button and the power button until the Apple logo comes on.
For iPhone X, it is a different buttons to press since iPhone X doesn't have the home button.

I went to the iPhone repair shop in Subang Jaya (Subang Square).
Not those Apple Authorise Service Centers.

for iphone x/xs, try to press volume up then volume down, then hold power button for 6-7 secs, see if apple logo appears....

press 1 time volume up (not hold)
then press 1 time volume down (not hold)
then hold power button

ah damn, I was hoping it's repairable as my gf hasn't backup her data yet and don't want to lose all her files in her phone.

Not likely. She went to sleep then the phone died the next morning.
