Just resigned and I gotta return my company laptop that has served me well for the past 3 years. Now looking to get my own laptop and I am so out of touch with the brands and models today. So thank in advance experts for replying.
1. Preferred brand : I seriously have no brand preference but my previous laptop was a HP Elitebook.
2. Budget : RM2.8ish (inclusive of Windows and Office).
3. Usage : Mostly as a work purposes like email, web browsing and all. I don't do any graphic or video editing. Occasionally I'd love to play some games (Dota2 and CSGO) with it as well but I think these games doesnt have too high of a requirement.
So I guess certain requirement I want is basically - lightweight, lasting battery duration and able to play games like Dota2.
4. Screen Size : Doesn't really matter. 13' is fine. 15' is fine.
Edit:
After going through some pages, just to help to narrow down the list.
Okay with non up-gradable RAM Preferably regular laptop

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 24 2019, 01:47 PM) Since your previous laptop is a business laptop, do you want a business laptop? Any preference on battery life? Actually what is the diff between business laptop and everyday laptop? I was given that so I got no choice but the lightweight and 13' screen seems to work fine for me. I also like how the battery can last quite long. Having said these, if the business laptop can do some light gaming like Dota2, I will go for it. Thanks for taking your time to reply!

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 24 2019, 02:39 PM) Business grade has better reliability+QC in general Can consider X395 but need to wait for sale Official website has more choices and cheaper prices Don't look at starting price, look at price after done configuration X395 is a bit out of my budget actually. Under 3k, is there anything you would recommend?

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 24 2019, 03:19 PM) So you want 13 inch? Fine with consumer grade laptops? Fine with no dGPU? 13 inch is okay. Consumer grade is okay right? Why you make it sound like they're bad haha. No dGPU I still can play games right?

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 24 2019, 07:43 PM) Looks fine to me Why not L390 Yoga? Consumer grade is worse than business grade, however sometimes got no choice. Lower QC compared to business grade but you might be lucky For D2? idk Intel GPU can play smoothly or not Maybe according to your opinion, what is the best under RM3k business laptop out there?

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 24 2019, 09:29 PM) Used to be T495 and X395 but they aren't on sale currently, might want to consider Thinkpad L390/L490/L590 I see you are a big fan of Lenovo. Any particular reason why Lenovo has the edge over others?

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 24 2019, 11:00 PM) I'm not a fan of any brand lol If the model itself is good then I'll recommend, that's it Ah my bad for making this assumption. Gonna take a look at the thinkpad series you recommended. One gripe though is the ugly design and logo on the laptop hahah
