Hi sifus. Am looking at Lenovo s540 ryzen model. Looks good on paper. Any thoughts about this laptop? Or are there better sub 3k laptops around?
Looking for thin and light, not doing anything demanding on it. Maybe some casual FIFA or NBA 2k games.

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 12 2019, 01:18 PM) I've reviewed it. However it's always out of stock in Lenovo website (premade models are >RM3k) If you don't mind Intel UHD iGPU, consider Thinkpad L390 or L490 - promo now. If you want Ryzen, Thinkpad E495 Other consumer grade models with Vega iGPU / dGPU: Acer Swift 3 SF314-54G-52L8 / 59WJ +RAM Lenovo Ideapad S340-14IWL 81N7003MMJ / NMJ / LMJ +RAM / S340-14IWL 81N7006RMJ Acer Swift 3 SF314-55G-50AN / 50YA: high sRGB IPS, non-upgradeable RAM Acer Swift 3 SF314-41-R0CS / R2YE +RAM any chance your review is published anywhere?

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Nov 16 2019, 10:51 AM) Get R7 only if you need the slightly better iGPU 300 nits vs 400 nits in T495s or 300 nits X395 vs 400 nits T495s? The warranty upgrade depends on you, personally I think 3 yr premier onsite is good enough Vega 8 is about the performance of MX150 10W with dual channel RAM and higher power limit Max budget you can go? No preference on battery life? After months of procrastination, am really on the fence to get t495s this round. The price is really tempting. Just a quick check if t495s will come with an empty ram slot of I choose the 8gb ram option? And also considering between the 300nits touch vs 400nits non touch - don't really need touch but seems like will be a useful additional feature. Will the 400nits screen be significantly better?

hello. helping to look for laptop mainly for multimedia and some gaming (NBA 2k, FIFA, COD, not AAA titles)
-budget: below 4k (ok to go slightly higher is spec is right. but lower the better) -no preference whether intel/ryzen, at least 8gb ram (extra ram slot will be a plus) -graphic card no preference as long as can play the above games comfortably (can MX250 and Vega 8 run those with high setting?) -weight: less than 2kg -thickness: less than 2cm -screen size 13"-15" as long can meet above weight and thickness -has usb c charging
ok to be without these if price is right -high sRGB -batt life: not particularly important as will be plugged in most of the time
not sure if mx250 is good enough to play the above games? if it is able to then would be a easy task as there would be plenty choices for the above requirement

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Feb 11 2020, 05:50 PM) Which version of NBA 2k and FIFA? Not many models support USB C charging actually, is it a must? So you're fine with non-upgradeable RAM? Not open to other models? Hmm ok to forgo USB c charging I guess. Latest version 2k20 and FIFA 20. Yup non upgradeable ram is fine.
