Hello sifus, I wish to use engineering Softwares like autocad etc, sometimes playing casual games (sims4)with casual graphical settings

1. Budget : 2.5k-3k
2. Usage: Mainly university usage, Microsoft office, engineering applications (Autocad), light gaming, streaming videos (anime, youtube)
Display: 15'6 is ok
Weight: Preferable lightweight
Battery: Long last (5-6 hrs)
Specs: 8GB RAM (should i get and upgrade to 16GB? - upgradable RAM), SSD storage, good colourings on screen

Thank you~~

May I know what games you'll be playing?
Prefer gaming or non gaming laptop?
Need high sRGB / colour accurate display?
*
Dota, sims 4 - but the specs for the game smoothness can be set at lowest priority

Non gaming laptop

Moderate colour display is fine

For your usage I think 8GB with upgradeable slot / 16GB non upgradeable RAM would be better

Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5i customize (code LENXCIMB)
-i5-1035G1 (not a good CPU for heavy workload TBH), 16GB, 1TB+128GB, 300nits IPS, MX330, backlit kb, 57Wh battery, AX WIFI
Lenovo Ideapad S540-15IML 81NG0068MJ / 69MJ +RAM

thank you!! Is there any other options for heavy workload? I am just afraid it will lag whenever i use Autocad

what do you also think of Asus Vivobook A512FL? I had been eyeing on this laptop actually

you're welcome

gaming laptops

avoid A512 at all costs

any reason to avoid A512? I somehow like the wide screen feature. not taking gaming into consideration, is there any other laptops you would recommend with similar specs like A512?

Cooling system not even designed properly. Cheap build+low QC, TN panel, small battery etc
