Lenovo Legion Y540 15 81SY00AJMJ, Y7000 SE customize / Y540 15 customize
Illegear Raven SE with 62Wh battery

Fine with 3-4 hrs battery life but with removable battery?

Need powerful CPU+GPU? Any preferences on weight, battery life and display size?
*
not sure powerful cpu+gpu needed or not, any spec recommended for BIM softwares ? size maybe 13/15” as this one is for my lecturer, she’s kind of old, so maybe not too heavy, as long as it doesn’t exceed 5k will do

I'm noob in software side things so idk, need to ask others

Preferred max weight and min battery life? Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradeable RAM?

Budget? Any preferences on weight, battery life and display size?
*
I see, if i5, 8gb ram, touch screen, 13"-15", not so heavy for a 50-ish woman to carry ? do you have any suggestion ?

Prefer min how many hours of battery life? Need high sRGB display (more vibrant colours)? Touchscreen need pen support?

*
maybe 5-7 hours ? i think no need a high sRGB display, just want to do some office work and a bit REVIT usage. Any touchscreen with pen support that is under the 5k budget ? if there is, might as well suggest one sweat.gif

Hi, My friend need a suggetion for a laptop that capable of doing 3D rendering such as Vray and Lumion for Architecture studies.

1. Budget : RM5k-6k
2. Usage : 3D Modelling and Rendering
3. Requirements : 16GB ram, 256GB ssd, and at least GTX1060, 15" laptop

Battery size, weight doesn't bother, as long as it can meet the requirements is enough.

With 1660Ti/2060:
Acer Predator Helios 300 PH315-52-794X / 76CQ
Lenovo Legion Y740 15 81HE007EMJ
Lenovo Legion Y540 15 81SX004XMJ, 81SX004WMJ; Lenovo Legion Y7000 SE 81NS0021MJ  / 81T00021MJ
Level51 Forge 15 Pro
Commandos Glock 5 Alpha
Commandos Glock 5 Plus 144Hz
Level51 Forge 15 Elite: low sRGB 120Hz

Use code LENXCIMB (CIMB card):
Lenovo Legion Y740 15 customize
Lenovo Legion Y540 15 customize / Y7000 SE customize

Thin and light with GPU Boost (aka Eluktroboost):
Illegear Onyx
Illegear Prodigy
Illegear Raven SE-R

Best value for now IMO is Y7000 SE with promo code (9750H+1660Ti/2060, 16GB RAM, 1TB HDD+1TB SSD, 144Hz IPS, Intel 9560, 2yr onsite)

Note that not all laptops are perfect, let me know after deciding so that I can tell you the pros and cons

fuhhh, so many choices, I'm wondering why are MSI laptops aren't in the list. My friend did mentioned that all of his friend was using either MSI or Asus laptops.
and regarding Lenovo laptops, my sister did used one before, I think it was a Y700/Y500. The build was a bit fragile sweat.gif

Overpriced, moreover low end line don't have good build quality

MSI/Asus not equal to good, despite their popularity in gaming laptops. The reason I didn't include Asus models here is because of their poor QC+QA in laptops

Build quality depends on model. Y540 has decent build while Y740 has excellent build

I see, after your explanations, my friend shortlisted the list into Y740 and Y7000
