1. Budget : RM2.7k- RM3.5k 2. Usage : Multimedia, browsing, emergency spreadsheets. 3. Requirements (15" IPS, Battery life no less than 4hrs, preferably metal body or solid frame) :
Not an avid gamer but if I can play PUBG that's good enough. Good after-sales service. I'd have to stress on a solid body frame. Weight isn't a big factor to me.

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Sep 29 2019, 01:15 PM) PUBG needs decent GPU Prefer gaming laptop or regular laptop? Build quality is decent, nothing special. Battery life is good. Depends on your usage Let's just say I don't mind sacrificing PUBG. So regular laptop with a good build quality and excellent display. I multi-task a lot also.

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 1 2019, 05:52 PM) By 'excellent display' you mean high sRGB? There aren't many 15 inch regular laptops with high sRGB display fyi Maybe not up to that part I guess better than decent but not excellent will do. Any recommendations? Thanks!

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 12 2019, 04:14 PM) https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/107102...5-3500u-vega-8/Note that for some reason I got below average battery life, meanwhile some users and NBC got 6-7 hrs Btw, that day you recommended me E595/E590 and I find those models to be very attractive for the 10/10 promotion (which I've missed). I just wondered if the S540 be it Intel/AMD specced would be another good alternative?

QUOTE(ZM Fong @ Oct 13 2019, 09:01 PM) Thinkpad E series is still built better imo even though it's consumer grade. S540 is decent, however there are things that you need to take note: -Stuck with 8GB RAM if dual channel is needed, if need expand RAM can only go 12GB (4+8), 20GB can support in theory but cannot confirm -2GB reserved RAM for iGPU VRAM (Ryzen model only), which is a bit stupid since iGPU will still use system RAM even set to 256MB (dunno new BIOS can change or not) -battery life (Ryzen model only): some said can get 6-7 hrs but I only managed to get ~5 hrs under similar load, though this might need to be retested -no dual storage -keyboard travel is short, need time to get used to Well clarified. Thanks again. I'm leaning towards E590 then. Hopefully there will be more sale promos within the next 2 months. This post has been edited by Chyan: Oct 14 2019, 11:12 AM
