Would appreciate your laptop recommendations

1. Budget : 5k~6k
2. Usage  : mostly use for gaming and movies and backup work laptop (mostly open to check drawings or light programming or bring to meetings)
3. Display size : 15 and above
4. Display quality : as long as its great to look at
5. Ram : 16gb
6. Battery life : 3~4hours
7. Weight : <2kg
8. Brand : Any
9. Storage : 512SSD
10. Lifespan: 5~7 years

Currently thinking of increase the budget to buy Onyx Pro/Selenite Pro (not saying they aren't worth the money) but is it good to invest for a laptop you planned to use for 5~7years ?

Thinking of Surface Pro 7 but reviews say not worth it for the spec

Got any similar laptops? Which brands offer tablet laptop actually? HP, ASUS got my good ones?

What video settings? 1080p low/high?

5-7 yrs lifespan cannot be guaranteed, even in business laptops. Either the laptop will die first or the performance cannot keep up to new tech

Since you wanted a thin and light, Illegear Prodigy should be good enough. If you want more battery life, Level51 Vapor 15 Pro would be my choice, although the hardware isn't the latest

If you want tablet, Surface probably the best choice (even thouugh I don't recommend it personally). Unless you're fine with 2 in 1

They are Tongfang barebones lol

Long lasting in terms of lifespan or performance?

3. Display: 15" or 17"
4. Any brand accepted (excluded Asus, Dell)

Noted. I would like to get a second opinion about SSD. is it true that m.2 NVMe 2280 has better performance than m.2 NVMe 2242 in term of heat dissipation? The bigger the logic board, the larger surface area, thus improving performance? secondly, can I find out the m.2 form factor (2242/2280) from bios/OS? Which mean without dismantling and inspect it physically.

If you are running on m.2 PCIe SSD, do you mind share the screenshot of msinfo32.exe here?
*
Yes.. 2242 type lesser surface ma...u need to check specsheet baru can find out.. example hp mostly 2242.. dell low end class 35 oso 2242.. class 40 sure 2280

CPU performance wise 1065G7 isn't that faster, in fact it might be slightly slower. iGPU performance of course G7>G1, however since you aldy opted for dGPU there's no need for a good iGPU

I don't think the code will expire (existed for months)

If no gaming, there's no need to take dGPU

SF314-55/55G don't have upgradeable RAM. Is 16GB a must to you?

hang out with so many lenovo laptop now ah

Hello! Hoping to get some help

1. Budget: 6k - 7k
2. Usage: Microsoft Office, Graphic design (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom), Watching movies, The Sims 4, Web browsing
3. Requirements:
- 1TB storage
- I often have to run Illustrator, Photoshop, and Chrome simultaneously
- not picky about laptop weight, size and all that, as long as it has a sturdy build
- decent battery
- considering convertible laptops so I can draw with a pen but this isn't necessary if they're not powerful or sturdy enough
- I know this cannot be guaranteed, but I hope for something that will last longer than 2 or 3 years? my trusty old sony vaio lasted 8 years RIP vaio

Thank you  smile.gif

ask again when you really need a laptop

Mind low sRGB display and non-upgradeable RAM?

Also, able to wait longer?

for low budget, go for used/refurb business laptops with at least 1 yr warranty

decent, the 25w GPU is a selling point
