...seriously, I don't understand why EMG still uses those extra large pickup covers... in the beginning it probably made sense to use the bass size covers for their 7-string custom pups - cut down on the costs. But once they made the 707 and 81-7 commercially available, they should have just designed a proper pickup cover.. like the SD blackouts IIRC... shakehead.gif

Someone posted a while back a link to Steve Morse's travel diary thing, when he had to dismantle his guitar at the airport with just a screwdriver so that he could bring it as carry-on... but then again, he's Steve Morse. biggrin.gif

its basically a lubricant that coats your strings.. but my fast fret sticks seems a bit dry, is it meant to be this way ? my fast fret stick is covered in rust now laugh.gif

If the stick is a bit dry... you probably have to buy a new one mou... laugh.gif

Try wiping down your string before applying the fast fret, so that if your strings are already rusty you don't transfer the rust to the fast fret and then back again to the strings. Then again, if your strings are rusty, it's time to change mou! biggrin.gif

It was suggested by an old forumer, ssslayerrr and apparently he uses it on his J-customs (Those are his guitars right? xD). Kinda skeptical at first but decided to give it a try. Works pretty well, doesn't really prevent rust but slows down the process. Don't think it's harmful to the wood, but to be sure, I use it only for strings and metal parts.

I checked the almighty Wiki and it says that WD40 is a penetrating oil... and penetrating oil can be used on metal-stringed musical instruments... hmm.gif

Whatever it is, stay away from Guitar Collection. The one in MidValley sold me a fastfret from RM25. The one in One U quoted RM28... wtf.

I think I got one from Bentley for RM19, but could be another shop.
