blacktrix, what gauge strings are you using?
i saw ZW sig series boomers at 10-60 and 11-70 string gauge haha thinking of trying the 10-60 but i scared the tension too high couldn't find my 10-52's(why is it so hard to find 10-52's that aren't d addario?) settled for 10-46 instead |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Nov 16 2007, 04:21 PM) eh dont talk big. i shall quote trivium on this one. "Behold, hypocrite".i will seriously smack the shit out of you if u come to the next jam session. and u wont be the first...all stupid keyboard warriors. anyway, i never said i bought the DA5. cant u friggin read? DA5 is RM590. lets see... how many jams have you been to? anyways, i don't want to start a war either. That would be immature and pointless. i'm just saying that it doesn't hurt to be nice once in a while, you know ? you don't have to let the whole world that you ____________ and talk like you own the place. I know you've been here for a long time, so have I (but i didnt register last time) The focus of the forum is to help others, not looking down upon people or degrading them. You're a senior member, you should know that. Respect the fellow forummers. Now i'm not the kind of person who goes around picking fights, but i sure as hell won't take shit from anyone. Bottom line is, respect other forummers and be matured when it comes to opinions and criticism. EDIT: My bad, i meant to say the Amplug, not the DA5 This post has been edited by SweetTooth: Nov 16 2007, 07:03 PM |

QUOTE(blacktrix @ Nov 16 2007, 07:09 PM) Please. No more friendly fire. Not trying to start a flame war here Mr Blacktrix If this continues (goes to both Everdying and SweetTooth), I WILL have to issue bans. Yes. This IS a threat. I'm already quite liberal and lenient in this forum already, but fighting amongst each other is NOT tolerated. If you both feel resentment, just send me a PM stating your cause... will try to settle it liberally. And to EmperorMeng, sorry about that..... I deleted all the dead links. Will update them when I get the chance. Just trying to prove a point, in a mature and healthy manner. I hope you don't get the wrong idea Mr Everdying. Just try to be nicer to others here, especially newcomers. They're here to learn, just like all of us are. So be a good boy and remember what your mommy tells you OK. Time to get back on topic of the guitar thread. To those of you who have heard Ocean of Fire's album, what do you think of Kelvyn's style? i was playing it in my car this afternoon and my dad said he tends to use a certain technique a lot. I noticed that too, he does trills and repeats a particular lick one too many time on most of his songs still sounds good though |

QUOTE(led_zep_freak @ Nov 16 2007, 08:39 PM) His style? Amazing? It's not easy being able to tap into various genres and he does a good job. It's probably the sweeping you're talking about? I wouldn't blame him, it seems second nature to him and it's hard to resist sweeping when you're at his level. not the sweeps haha. i'm too lazy to tab it out but its no biggie What I like about the band though is that they work as a unit and don't take themselves to seriously. Their songs are no short of amazing, too. as for those sweeps.. i would practice them seperately first before combining both parts(ascending and descending) good luck |

QUOTE(gapnap @ Nov 16 2007, 08:54 PM) i can't remember the first time how i got my sweeps right on.. i couldn't agree more.. the way i sweep pick is pretty weird, sometimes its like how MAB used to sweep, where your picking hand is stiff and you dont turn your pick, just angle it like how you would normally pick. i've been trying the change-pick-direction thing and i find it harder to pick that way. maybe its because i'm used to the former, but i'll work on it once i get back my guitar.but ...i think i have been teaching alot of sweep picking.. my best advice is ...the more details you pay attention too , the harder it will get sweep picking is all about the synchronization between your left hand and your right hand.. you get your 3 strings right on ..work a while and you will get your 5 strings easily... imo ..practising all this roll over techniques , angle of holding picks etc..is just a waste of time..it all boils down to the synchronization this is why people who practiced alternate picking before , and they are able to play it at a decent speed .. they will find sweep picking much easier than people who goes straight to sweeps but i agree on the hand sync part. don't think about it too much, let your fingers do the playing and let your ears listen to the cleanliness |
