Hi all,
What are those things u put on your strings to make the last longer?
Feels kinda oily wan...
What are they called and any brands that you all like in particular?

You mean something like GHS fast fret? I used to have one, didnt like it. Too slippery for me to play comfortably.

Having second thoughts buying a guitar back now....

I think I'll just buy another soft case that can hopefully fit the razorback, and I'll bring the road runner soft case I bought the last time in the states to bring back a BFG or similar guitar.....

Then I'll strap the Razorback on, and my dad can strap the BFG (or similar) on and hand carry it on board the plane......

But this time, might invest in a DAMN GOOD soft case!

My friend can't find a gig bag for his Dimebags, so he asked someone to make him two...
Do the Razorback even have a gig bag for it?

Chicago itself already has 2..... which is where I'm headed first.

Currently, the plan is Chicago (my convention is held there) and then will (hopefully) fly to San Francisco, then travel up to LA, Anaheim, and then leave via LAX.....

The Guitar Center in Hollywood is AMAZING...... I bought my Bullseye LP there, and right next door is Sam Ash...... which was the first time I saw the Razorback.....

I'm excited to go back to the Rock Walk of Fame outside the Guitar Center to see the new Dimebag Memorial......

hehe... here's my story..

i came back from the states in 2002... just a bit after the sept 11 thingy..

i had my guitar in a hardshell case and to add safety i sent it to a mail store where they wrapped it nicely in bubble wrap and put it in a box... it was meant for luggage...

got to the airport...the security ripped open the box and the bubble wrap just to check if i have a bomb or something inside... so the guitar is left with just the hard shell case...

then i asked if i can take it in as a hand carry and they say no... have to go through luggage or shipped...

took my chance and checked it in as luggage...

in the plane i saw them 'throwing' my guitar to the conveyor belt into the plane.... i was screaming from inside the plan... not that they can hear...

and worse of all... when i arrived in klia... the guitar was lost!!!...

i immediately filled in a claim form and put the value of my guitar at RM10K (a LP was starting to linger around my head)...

a week later a van came buy and i got my guitar back... seems to be in good condition except that it's travelled all over US... saw some luggage stickers of LA... phoenix... newark... dubai.... klia....

guess my warmoth travelled to more places than i did...

the end...

does the airline still allow guitar as hand carry??? the americans are so paranoid they'd think we can wank the pilot with the guitar... further more the razorback?? you might not even pass the security check into the terminal... better check with the travel agency dude...

actually my custom warmoth cost less than rm5k... including the hardshell case which i bought on ebay (built in 1979 by the way)....

i simply marked up the price in the form... wanted to put 15k but that'd be too much...

just so you know.
guitar center has been bought over.
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-guit...a-home-business

the company that will be buying it over will most probably ditch/close musiciansfriend, which is currently owned by guitar center.

changes are coming, and not necessarily for the better.
